I watched the video in Danish when I was twisting/locking my dreadies. I didn't understand the words but I loved it! i just found your newest video of the 62 month update, you make me want my dreads again. You were such an inspiration. I didn't need to understand the words to know how they affected you. I had them for 6 months, and i have missed them since I had taken them out. if I ever do them again, which is a huge possibility I want you to know you had a little something to do with it! for me, its almost religious, a promise to stay true to myself. doing yoga helps with that but man i miss my dread babies! keep rocking 'you'!! btw, beautiful either way, but i like the no face piercings better. ;) just another free spirit, admiring yours.

And for anyone watching this, DON"T USE BANDS , they will actually hinder the locking process and cause breakage. Now, that being said, I do use them on occasion, but not for very long. Just when I have a hard time keeping crocheted hair in. I put a band on just for a week or so til that hair gets sucked up enough it won't come loose.

i don't have dreads, i'm just chronically ill. i once washed my hair, about your color, oily, and fine texture, every day. i can no longer do that due to illness. the result is that i no longer need to wash my hair every day. once a week, or even less, works, with no rinse cleanser for touch-ups, as needed.

@kurisute after six weeks of not washing the hair the oil glands get used to not being washed with harsh chemcials and will slowly regulate itself... some ppls hair/body smell becaue theres bacteria growing (aka body odor) just keep as clean as you can..

@nishanthcy yeah its realy easy, just using a deep conditioner ( so and comb your hair out. it would take hours possibly even a couple of days!

Do you still recommend the twist and rip method for dreadlocks? Should I just add the rubber bands at the base and ends, or add a few to the middle? do the rubber bands ever bother you? I would just put one or two in my hair and if just one strand is pulled the wrong way it makes my whole head hurt! How does it not bother you? I usually clip up half of my hair and it still pinches terribly where ever the clip is....how can I get a scalp that's not so sensitive?
