This was a very very pretty cover version. It also reminds me of the beautiful iconic version sung by the late great Cass Elliot ( Mama Cass )

I love this girls voice. And she's singing one of my all time favourite numbers. Ah, wonderful stuff!

She has that wonderful 'full' voice which completely fills the void musical instruments don't. She is also beautiful. Unfortunately, the song is kind of ruined when they decided to have that big mouth at 2:46 garble his garbage.

"Dream a Little Dream of Me" is a song written in 1931 music by Fabian Andre and Wilbur Schwandt and lyrics by Gus Kahn. "Dream a Little Dream of Me" was recorded by Ozzie Nelson and his Orchestra with vocal by Nelson on February 16, 1931 for Brunswick Records. Two days later, Wayne King and His Orchestra with vocal by Ernie Birchill recorded the song for Victor Records. "Dream a Little Dream of Me" was also an early signature tune of Kate Smith. In the summer of 1950 seven recordings of "Dream a Little Dream of Me" were in release with the versions by Frankie Laine and Jack Owens reaching the US Top 20 at respectively #18 and #14: the other versions were by Cathy Mastice, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Jordan, Vaughn Monroe, Dinah Shore and a duet version by Bing Crosby and Georgia Gibbs. Other traditional pop acts to record "Dream a Little Dream of Me" include Barbara Carroll, Nat King Cole, Doris Day, Joni James, Dean Martin, Michael Bublé, and Italian vocal group Blue Penguin. Stars shining bright above you Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you" Birds singing in the sycamore trees Dream a little dream of me Say nighty-night and kiss me Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me While I'm alone and blue as can be Dream a little dream of me Stars fading but I linger on dear Still craving your kiss I'm longing to linger till dawn dear Just saying this Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you But in your dreams whatever they be Dream a little dream of me Stars fading but I linger on dear Still craving your kiss I'm longing to linger till dawn dear Just saying this Sweet dreams, till sunbeams find you Gotta keep dreaming leave all worries behind you But in your dreams whatever they be You gotta make me a promise, promise to me You'll dream, dream a little of me... PS! i wondered why this song still haunts me esp in this particular clip ,i found myself also part of the clip and part of the audience too .Acting and singing .But also as a ghost like character sitting in those old dodgy and smoky bioscopes on my own with a coke and popcorn. What a treat ! Only today it came to me ,back like a flash of lightning . For so many years i would watch these old movies alone, where as a dreamer my dreams fulfilled and soothed me ,which multiplied into countless more dreams inspired and imagined by love and song ... which captivated and arrested my muse and soul . But when the dream / s and the movies quit, it was back to reality and suddenly being alone again and without love reality sobers one up oft with a headache. Ever felt that feeling of crashing to the floor- back to hard reality ? In which begs the questions, do dreams really come true for all ,or only a few ? Or do we build ,imagine and construct our own dreams to fill the gaps in our lives and the missing super hero roles we never got to be ? Radical and farfetched dreams can also often be too big for the ordinary mind .And oft surreal for this plain world , knowing our eternal soul inside cries out for eternity and for eternal dreams to come true which is more in a spiritual dimension where we can more easily transcend and transport self into imaginary locations and positions which love and song inspire without boundaries ... Sometimes longer and longer , but too oft only for a moment or two , which keeps us hoping and dreaming for more and more ... beautiful thoughts and dreams which satisfy our wildest fantasies but also heal the brokenness from our limited power and restricted realities... Dream on !!!

O! yes, i almost forgot as a young kid i used to sit in the back seats of the Durban drive-in sometimes alone and sometimes with my younger sissys. Little did we know one day i would as a scholar ,soon be selling tickets at the entrance gates of the Durban drive-in .Afterwards , i would crawl back into those same old rubbery seats and dream on whilst the movies rolled on and on. This time ,the only difference was i was a few years older .But now i could buy all the hamburgers ,hot dogs ,ice cream and chocs of my insatiable desire which re-fuelled and re-fired up a restless and young naive and tired mind to re-engage entering into the last forbidden dream hidden deeply in the world of fantasia and dreams whilst seated and glued to the big screen in the back rickety old seats of the drive -in .Thats where the magic came alive ! ... where i watched countless flics, scopes ,movies, films ,bioscopes - call them what you may they were all mine and some i loved so much i turned them into magnificent sweet-dreams ... that removed the bitter from bittersweet in every day life . I almost forgot too - you see i was still dreaming , i had to end the dreams with a long walk home afterwards .But the dreams were influencing enough to give me sufficient enduring energy to walk on home about 10 kms away -but too often rather dangerously late ,indeed long after midnight ... xxx
