I absolutely love this bike. The color scheme is 11/10, incredibly beautiful. The slim steel frame looks amazing, and all those mountpoints! I love it. The bikepacking kit works so well on this bike, too. Not exactly my choice of geometry and components for a bikepacking bike, as I prefer a sportier geometry on slightly slimmer tires (Schwalbe G-One Allround are my current favourite). I wouldn't have gone for the front rack, I think, and I would have gone for a Shimano GRX group set instead of the SRAM used in this build. But to each their own.

Beautifully done and on one of my favorite bikes have mine setup for bike packing with rack on back but no front. I have seat bags etc too but still prefer light weight racks especially for side carry options.

If I wanted to use a 160mm rotor in the back, would I just mount the caliper directly without an adapter? 180mm is a bit overkill for me. Nice build!

Another great build, but I also have a question. Why on earth would you put batteries for shifting gears when you are going bikepacking and you might not have a way to charge them?

What a fucking beaut, the perfect bikepacking build. Love my stock Kona Sutra, but it's still a 2x with not the greatest handlebar set or tires. This is the dream.

Loved this part 2:12; people should stop using only the blue stuff just because everybody else is using it. There are tons of good grease that is not expensive.

Unfortunately you don't, SRAM and Shimano hate us and only make 12 speed wide range 1x with electronic shifting now.

That front wheel is built with a Dynamo hub with two charging ports for the AXS and another for the light.

@@alexandersnider734 You didn't specify drop bars. I run NX on my alt-bar bike. I know the Red comes in an 11sp, but you can easily modify an existing drop shifter with the Retro Tech kit to be a 12 speed.

As a mechanic and well experiencd bike builder... the amount of fingers dipped into grease makes me cringe....where the paint brush at Gee? also who doesnt use Teflon tape on a BB in this day and age urgghhh :( anyway nice build, nice video just not the best execution.

I have one with a reasonable build (2x / 10spd full mechanical / DT H-G1800 for sturdyness / 50mm) and it eats rough terrain for breakfast, loaded or not (and I weight 100kg). This bike has a mtb-esque geo (high trail, high lenghts, etc.) and is very, very stable even doing some pretty dumb things you should probably do with at least one suspension...
