Im from New Zealand, in 1987 I travelled to Hawaii with my family, my first time out of the country. I grew up with American television from Sesame Street to Magnum P.I. The parents bought a new Honda Civic, and with the deal were tickets to Hawaii for the family. I was 13 years old which was a great age to experience the trip. It felt surreal and I was floating on a cloud the whole time. I was soaking up actually being in the tropical Americana environment that I had only seen on T.V in programs like Magnum P.I (which was in its last year of filming, I thought I may have seen the helicopter from the series, but it could have just been another one painted in that cool 1970s style, like the one from the series). I visited a beach outside of Honolulu, they sold big bags of popcorn on the beach along with snorkle gear so you can feed the tropical fish amongst the coral in the fish sanctuary. These big-ass fish would come right up and nibble out of your hand under water. When I was at that beach I had a surreal moment where I felt like I was in a coca-cola advert with the sun shining, the music, the beautiful people and environment, everything was Bright and Happy, even the fish were smiling.

Im 26 and from Germany and actually doing my first long time travel, in this moment i lay in my bed in ciudad de mexico after traveling many countries in south america and i know my plane back goes in 3days. Im not the same anymore i expirenced so many things on my journey, i met many gret people. Oh i really never lived so pure in the moment than in this time of my life. Im happy. And while this im listen to this mix and it really gives me vibes. I just want to say, please believe in yourself and dont be afraid of new ways in your life. I you feel desired to something, it will always work for you!

I bought the tie for my high school graduation at a Sears. Copacabana was playing while I was in the dressing room. The Sears was demolished a few years later and they still haven't managed to put a different store at the end of that mall.

HOLY SHIT!! That’s the Sears from my childhood! Used to go there all the time with my parents, it’s (or was) in Mountain View California and it kinda took my breath away to see a picture of this place so long forgotten in my memory

I used to live a few minute drive away from where this picture was taken. While I definitely don't feel fondly towards my time in Mountain View overall, it made me smile to see this pop up in my recommended.
