My wife had an accident a month and a half ago, she too was my best friend for seven weird and beautiful years. Unknown User My best friend, my girlfriend allready two and half year soon, is alive. But her lif has been like a hell. Her parants keeps her in their home almost like a homeslave. She can study, yes, but she doesn't get permission to go outside to town hang out, because she has to clean, wash laundry/dishes, work like a babysitter for her younger stepbrothers every single day. She has to fifth her parents leg!!! Also she is the one who is all the time that person who makes everythin wrong (I really think her parents are affected by narsism...) Only sometimes she can hang out with me, but only sometimes, and for good reason of course... She doesn't have hardly any friends because according that she has been in home most part of her life, she has an illness which affects her look (I can't explain) so she has been bullied a quite lot. She has thought a lot of suicide and something about hurting herself... I have tried make her life to meaningfull, she means for me so much (otherwise I would be bachelor because this relationship hasn't been ever easy. It doesn't help any that I know she has some trauma but she doesn't tell anything about them, she keeps those serious things inside her. I can just think if she is victim of a raiping by her stepfather or something when she was young girl... AWFUL!!!) but sometimes I'm just afraid that she kills herself in very bad day... Thank God she is 18 in next month and she can leave her family who really not show the love to my girl!!! But we're still afraid about future... I DO NOT GIVE UP maybe she is my wife some day Sorry for bad English

My fiance died the same day he proposed to me. I never even told anyone about our engagement until recently. That was back in 2006 for us as well. He passed on his best friend's birthday. We even had plans to celebrate with him later that night. I know how you feel...it destroyed me. I feel like I died that day. I changed. He called me the light that was bringing him out of the darkness. But then he died and the darkness consumed me. It's been 12 years for both of our tragedies. I'm sad for you but I do take comfort knowing I'm not the only one missing a love after so many years.

I could laugh, cry and feeling save with her. And sometimes i hear myself using her words when i try to see it trough her eyes. What she would say. And i ask her help sometimes and feel she's still around me also after 13 years!

Honestly? I’m a huge fan of Scenes from a Memory. It’s my fav DT album by far. But this is THE one song of the whole record that people can appreciate even without knowing the whole context. A lot of people can relate to the grief of losing someone(particularly a young one). That said, when you do get to dive deep into the album’s plot, I find it very amusing that, in this song, the lyrics (which are Nicholas’ thoughts) portray Victoria as this quasi-saint figure, pure and faultless, while in the very next track, Home, they show (in a very… direct way) her cheating on her boyfriend with his own brother.

@@lLpars Many of the songs stand on their own merit, but I genuinely think that a concept album needs to be heard in its entirety. It's possible to read a chapter of a book and enjoy it, but without the whole story, it will be lacking something.
