I realised that most of the American barbers I watch on KZfaq struggle when it comes to shear work. They're master faders don't get me wrong, but when it comes to cuts requiring proper scissor work its like watching a guy who just started barber school

I had a question Dre when you use your half guard to eliminate that line you made with your one guard do you use the half guard lever open and go pass the line or you just only attack the line with the lever open to closed method only on that line you made from the 1 guard including in your fades and taper?

Always start with your lever half way bro or close your 1 guard to just soften up the line. After that then you go with your half closed and hit half of that 1 guard section with the lever open on the half.

With the half guard lever open, go halfway through the 1 guard open guideline

That’ll soften up the guideline, then slowly close your lever as needed and tap at dark spots use mostly the corner of your clipper
