Mass Archon + Dark Archons is one of the scariest armies (and expensive) from Protoss versus Zerg. I've seen multiple highlights where multiple armies of ultralisks with dark swarm get murdered by the archon army (without the archon army even needing to replace itself). Once ya hit that critical mass of archons. Also, Dreiven had a backup plan in case his army got destroyed and he couldn't take out the Zerg bases. Mind Control is often used as a super turtle ability when protoss hides in one of their strong holds. Other times, its used as a Meme to mindcontrol a drone and make a hatchery.

I have gotten so much better at broodwar just from watching the tricks the pros do thanks to your channel. I used to think i was pretty good for someone who only plays team games, but these replays have really boosted my skill.

all kinds of crazy shit, it was awesome seeing the Protoss player be patient and hold out focusing on winning battles and whittling down the zerg despite being at a disadvantage the entire game up until the Siege of the 5'o clock position where Yellow wasted dozens of ultras.

Man, this Zerg was just A-moving his army the whole time. This is one of the main reasons he lost at the end, although he cashed in 20K more resources.

Great cast, as always :) maelstrom worked well here, but I can see why it was never a mainstream strategy....doesnt last long, and very small area of effect plus the micro needed to maelstrom and then psi storm in the middle of a battle is just nuts lol thank you falcon paladin for doing these casts

Wow this was an excellent game of PvZ i really thought the Zerg player had this just because of how many bases he had over the protoss player.

forge fe was standard ovewhelming meta pvz opening before fighting spirit was even made, P's opening wasnt bc of some different meta, it was just a stylistic choice for this game

There is a really long thread over at teamliquid where players discuss viability of dark archons in PvZ: www.teamliquid.net/forum/bw-strategy/103526-dark-archon-key-to-next-metagame-shift-in-pvz Worth checking out. A TL;DR version of it might be that it takes a very specific situation where a dark archon can be more viable than other, more standard ways to deal with a situation. E.g. flock of mutalisks - do you deal with it using dark archon + high templar, implying some prep beforehand and specific positioning? Or just use corsairs which are more mobile and can be also used for scouting and overlord hunting? Love seeing creative dark archon plays but I'm pretty sure that's the main reason they don't see that much play on pro level. Stakes are high, and they play to win. A versatile solution is always better than a very specific one which can whiff easily.

I like that most people consider Brood War as one of the most balanced games, and I do usually agree. However, as a Zerg player myself, I've always thought that Storm and Siege Tanks were so overpowered! What does Zerg have to counter said units other than masses and immaculate play? It doesn't take a lot of skill to mass tanks, but you have to have the perfect combo of units to have a chance against it. Long story short, Zerg is the hardest, most API intensive race, Fight Me! LOL, I'm kidding, but the comments will be fun!

Lol, Falcon and other casters almost always complain about zerg not opting for speed lings early on but if it's so many gm level players doing it there must be some reason they don't think it's efficient. I mean they can't all be wrong about that cost/benefit analysis.

I knew who was gonna win within a few mins, even when the zerg was outplaying and expanding the protoss... the protoss are too OP. unless you're way way better than ur opponent .. Zerg doesn't have anything to win large engagements.. storm takes out everything, and the dark swarm is kind of useless cause they have archons and splash damage. The majority of ZvP's are like this game.

Difficult looking at the minimap is. Learn the skill you must young apprentice.

I am taking back my thumbs up. You seem to fairly consistently favor Terran or at least Protoss over Zerg. Getting annoying if true.

this game just goes to show you how even 7 bases against 4 isn't going to win you the game if you don't macro properly. zergling count has been way 2 low all game long
