Eat healthy, exercise, take vitamin tabs, take one spoon of extra virgin olive oil and apple cider vinegar, drink matcha green tea and sleep well ... That's what I've done and just celebrated my 90th birthday lately. 😊

I live up north where we get little sun in the winter so I take 15,000 iu of D3 all year. My holistic MD agrees with all of this - the 'do takes' and the 'don't takes'. Dr. Berg is the BEST. I don't take niacin now though so I'll ask at my next appt. and probably start taking it. I'm 75 now, I take no meds and I do that same aerobic workouts I did when I was 30 and lift [almost] the same amount of weights. And I thank God each day that I can do all this. All in all, I owe it to Him.

@hereim5648 Yes. Sometimes, getting all you need from food is difficult since so much our foods are GMO, chock full of added toxins, sugar, salt, and artificial everything, plus our soil being so depleted of the levels of vitamins and minerals that it used to have. Then add on the insecticides, added dyes, and coloring to make everything appear fresh and vibrant. I can be difficult.

I so appreciate you Dr. Berg. RE: NIACIN. I went to a cardiologist...I do have pretty high cholesterol but so did my mom...hers was over 300 and she lived till 95. Anyway, FIRST thing I get told is I need a statin. I told him that I will not take a statin. Now I had done some research myself and also listen to you.....I asked him, "well, couldn't I just take niacin to help" (knowing it would)...his answer: "I used to tell my patients to take niacin but not anymore"...I asked why and he said b/c there is not enough studies done to uphold that idea. Well, if it works why do we need a "study"? I just received my 500mg of niacin and I am going to give it a go...it is the sustained release as you suggested. Fingers crossed...and thank you!

Good decision. I made the mistake of going on statins and it made me feel like I was a hundred years old. I had no energy. Could not run 20 feet without thinking I was dying. I threw my statins away, went on the Keto Diet with Intermittent Fasting, and now I feel better at 72 than I did in my 40s. I can now run a mile a day with no problems. BTW, There are 19 studies that show that the higher your cholesterol is, the longer you live. My LDL is over 300 now and I could not care less, because all my other markers (like my Triglycerides=56) look great and I feel great.

@@jenniferleibig1901 Black Cohosh might help with hot flashes. My best advice however would be that you have a little chat with your body. I know this sounds all woo-woo but we are energy. Your body talks to you all the time via cravings, rashes, acne, good feelings, more energy or fatigue, stiff joints etc The list is endless. So why wouldn't you talk to It? When I went through menopause, I had a little chat with my body. I'd heard so many horror stories from others and I decided I wasn't going to go through that. I stated my intent clearly and told my body how much I loved and appreciated all that it did for me and asked it to do this for me. I had a few very mild hot flashes on and off for about 2 maybe 3 months and never had any since. That was 15-16 yrs ago. You can use this method to heal your body too. I've done it. It has to be sincere though, you can't fool your body.

Glad you mentioned donating blood. Donating blood is the only way to exercise the blood system like any other system of the body. Regularly donating blood trains your body to make fresh red blood cells, trains your body to rapidly clot leaks. Though I haven't donated as much the last 30 years being an over the road truck driver, but I have donated near 18 gallons the 30 years before. The training lasts a long time.

Potassium is very important too! I've found that taking potassium usually completely eliminates migraines too, within just a few minutes after taking some. I still haven't figured out the "exact required" dosage, but I have some potassium salt that I take 1/4 teaspoon of at a time, every 10-20 minutes or so, until my headache goes away completely, when and if I ever get one, and that usually works within an hour or less, to completely eliminate a migraine and make you feel 100% again... So I just wonder if getting headaches is a result of being low in potassium... ? (Taking potassium works MUCH better than taking any kind of manufactured drugs for a headache, like aspirin, etc, plus, potassium works without any detrimental side effects!)

Today, I feel frikking GREAT! Compared to how I felt at the start of the year, just about ready to crawl into a hole and die, I can't believe the difference that a course of the correct Vitamins/Minerals, and Intermittent Fasting has done for me. I have corrected TWO painful inflammations, one in my knee and in my Coccyx, and corrected a Vitamin D deficiency I've probably been living with for the past four years. I'm sleeping for longer, my blood pressure is down 10 points, I'm bright-eyed and alert, and I'm not sleeping during the day anymore. My depression is gone, I'm far less anxious and I feel hopeful for the future for the first time in bloody ages. I might soon also add some weight-loss to the list of positives, never a bad thing. Dr. Berg, I cannot thank you enough. Your advice has been right on the money in helping me find my good health again.

I'm over 50 now and I do all things in this video and especially love Vitamin K2. I get it from Australian Emu Oil, duck fat, and pasture raised eggs and grass-fed meats. My step-father at over 70 eats tons of "enriched" pasta all his life and now has 2 stints. He takes doctor-ordered statins too. He is tired of all my food and diet advice to throw away the wheat and statins and eat real food. People really don't like being told that they eat badly especially when they don't think they do. Oh well. I feel better than ever since I changed my diet to eating whole foods, got rid of seed oils, and the supplements I take are mainly from whole food sources as well, i.e. emu oil for K2 and fermented cod liver oil for Vit A & D3.

@@margaretwheatley6446 dry fast is easy, you don't deplete your nutrients ( assuming that you take nutrients prior to fasting ), you get 3x the fat burning process as well as hypertonic authophagy, and it's a short term , 36 hours, lost 4 pounds. I have done 2x ( 36 hours ) so far this week and lost a total of 8 pounds. Right now I'm consuming healthy ket, going to exercise tomorrow, then in couple of day I will do another 36 dry fast that would put me 12 pounds lighter in is than 10 days. Then I'm done ( once I reach 124 pounds ) !! I'm been neglecting my health the past year, I lost so much weight the last 6 days that people won't recognize me 🤣, and I hp I maintain my health and keep it steady !!! Yes, do a 36 hour dry fast ! I used to wear sunglasses every day for 30 years but spent plenty of time in the sun. My muscle mass was always average even if I did weights, but would have to keep up the weights to keep any descent muscle tone. Last couple of years I started helping a friend installing solar panels on roofs and I noticed in summer that I would get sunburned but my friend who is in his 50's like me and fair skinned didn't. I noticed he didn't wear sunglasses. So after researching sunlight, sunglasses and sunburn looking for a connection. I tried not wearing sunglasses and daily looking at the peripheral of the sun for a few seconds until my eyes would squint from the brightness. After a few weeks I started noticing that my muscle mass all over my body started to become strong and hard to the feel. 57 yrs old now and more muscle mass than i had in my 30's without training. I guess its vitamin D. My partner charges me $100/hr for a massage because she says its like massaging a rock so she has to use her elbows to get me to feel anything. lol

Niacin will flush out toxins, so it could have something to do with that. Even old drugs embedded in the fat tissue can be pulled out, with the resulting effect being that of whatever is being flushed out. This is ultimately good for you, so keep going until it is run out. Also, if you take, say, 100 mg of niacin every day for a week, the body will “get used to” it, and you would then have to take a higher dosage to get a flush. It’s important when taking large doses of niacin to take correspondingly higher doses of other vitamins and minerals (such as calcium-magnesium) to keep all of them balanced in the body.
