It‘s wednesday morning here in germany and I love to watch this series at breakfast! Yesterday (tuesday) my favourite little thing was going grocery shopping and into a drugstore alone without my toddler. My husband watched him. Today i‘m going to make „Schnitzel“ with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes and I’m looking forward to meeting a friend with her toddler this afternoon. It will be a great time especially for our kids, since we don‘t do playdates very often because of what’s going on right now. Also i’m due in november with my second baby which is my favorite BIG little thing this year haha Thank you Nikki 💖

My little thing yesterday was watching the return of This Is Us! I don’t watch much tv anymore but I feel like that show is just so well done and really makes me think. I thought the writers handled what’s going on in the world today in a graceful and considerate way, too.

It is so sweet that you help clean your grandparents home. One of my elderly relative’s daughter does that for them. I was wondering how that gets started? What signs that they could use help with home maintenance and what conversations took place for that to get started?

Love the little things thoughts. 💕 mine was sitting still with my granddaughter going through a book and her singing Away in the manger. I found a set of small salt n pepper shakers in glass at thrift. Set the table for dinner with plate n soup bowls and made homemade biscuits and put in basket. ( your ideas 🥰). And cloth napkins. Family enjoyed . Made Olive Garden Zuppa Soup. And simple biscuits.

Ah the paper plate. I am like you in that I always use my “real” dishes, even my china on a regular basis. It feels strange to me to serve guests using paper products. However, I have learned to let go of some things and I can happily pull some out if I need to and no longer feel the kind of guilt I used to.

I loved the crossword and the advice sections of the paper! Judgement free friends are the best house guests! I love setting my friends at ease when they express concern over thier home. I know I appreciate it when I’m put at ease with kind words. I’ve got to get more flats for daily wear around the house! I’ve been living in flip flops and it’s time to bust out my slippers! Time to get cozy!

For lunch I am going to use my leftover meatloaf and make open faced sandwiches along with a side salad. I may also make chocolate peanut butter magic cookie bars. I’m not even thinking about supper because there’s a good chance that those magic bars are going to ruin it!😁🤣😉

That's a beautiful dress! I'm just finishing my morning coffee and about to get ready to complete some errands before the whole family head out to our assembly rooms for an Autumn Break afternoon tea treat. Not a little thing, but the family time and choice of teas will make my day! It's halloween themed for 10 days at the moment so should be some real holiday fun for the kids too. Tonight I had roasted red pepper soup yum very tasty

Tonight for dinner, we had pulled bbq pork. I make big pot meals and freeze/can them. This was a freezer meal. It makes life easier some days. School for my kids took extra long. The kids and I walked to the park. I cleaned kitchen cabinets. I do one a day. I cleaned my bathrooms, laundry, and dishes. Thank you for making housework enjoyable again.

We had chicken pappardelle for dinner today. It's a family favourite and so easy to make ❤

I'm seeing images of Jorge throwing out orders to "declutter" to his troops!.. LOL! I totally admire how he is a fun dad but balances it with discipline. I find myself accepting "casual dining" more frequently with closer friends; cos it really is about the company. And true friends don't really mind do they? And the paper plates just add that touch of "familiarity" .. :) If I could have my way, I'd always have at least half my day running on "slow". No appointments, no rushing out the door, no juggling 550 balls in the air... LOL We had pasta bolognese last night.. It's a rare treat for my hubs cos my girls don't eat red meat... He thoroughly enjoyed it; as I'm sure you all enjoyed your spaghetti as well... Hard to go wrong with pasta ;) This evening I've attempted to make fish burgers. I'm totally winging it! Hopefully it isn't a disaster! I love staying home and getting things done. My home is 30 minutes from the nearest town and 1.5hrs from my grocery store of choice, so when I leave for the day, I’m gone alllll day. It can be draining. I relish in being home! 😊 I’m making a lasagna inspired dish. Cabbage (instead of noodles- spaghetti squash is good, too!) with beef in a tomato sauce with onions/garlic/green bell pepper. No dairy for my husband, but believe me, we miss the cheese! Haha Sautéed green beans, and whole wheat sourdough bread. 😊 Blessings!

We had spaghetti and salad. My husband made the meatballs. So nice! It is gloomy here so I need to be aware of not feeling lazy. It's wonderful you have friends who accept you as you are. I always feel because I have less, they look down on me. So I try harder and bake up a storm. Have a great evening.

Hi, Nikki, When I sit down to read our morning paper, I go through the two main sections first to see what piques my interest. Then, I read the advice column and the obituaries (I'm 70 and, sadly, often see persons I know in the obits.) Later on in the day, I work the cryptogram puzzle.~ For dinner this evening, my husband fixed us salmon, rice and broccoli. Quite yummy!

Hi Nikki. At my house every Thursday is spaghetti night! I add fresh onion garlic mushrooms and spices to plain, cheap bottled sauce with ground beef and the kids love it. I’m really loving these videos & of course your home making ones too. I love having a beautiful table setting and always had my table set up for the season or holiday but since the shut down and having to work from home my dining room became my office and my table my desk since I had to bring the work phone and two laptops from the office there was no space for my settings and no more dinners in our table, now we use our small kitchen table and use paper plates(pretty paper plates so I can feel a little better 😁)I know this is temporary but I do miss setting up a beautiful table for the family and can’t wait for when I can do it again.For dinner tonight we had baked potatoes, chicken cutlets and salad.

Today my little thing was an unexpected change in my plans that lightened up my load for the day . I got pumpkin curry and rice from my favorite thai food restaurant. I have been trying to put together a new wardrobe and let's just say the struggle is real!! It is soo hard to find clothes that work for me these days. Wish me luck!

We never get them so we had to use scissors to eat them. Nothing fancy - my partner actually ate them standing up as we shared from the same plate at our cluttered counter 🤣

Hi I had a Nikki inspired day for sure. I too am a dress wearer. They just make me feel so feminine. I've worn them for a few years and even now my friends say, ",Oh your all dressed up" does happen to any of you? Also, my bible study gals skipped study today. Just to sit and do little projects. I shortened sleeves Son a new dress and the other girls we crafting. Oh fun story...I was trying on bv the dress and one of the gals said oh your slip is showing. I had a private giggle thinking I wish my slip had some pretty lace on it.😊 For dinner I made crab cakes with a lemon sauce and some vegetables. It was a good day. I even baked a cake to take to bible study and for company I having for coffee tomorrow. I love pretty dishes and table setting. Well that's enough. One more thought and question. Sometimes I think it makes people uncomfortable when you set a pretty table, they've even said, oh lets just use paper... I dont have paper.🥰

Hello! Today I made fish in balsamic vinegar and my homemade"sofrito" and lemon, topped with Zucchini + squash. Mashed potatoes, black beans and spanish styled Califlour rice mixed with frozen vegetables mix. I thought I made enough for 2 days but my husband loved it and went for 2nds. But that's a good thing. right?

Paper plates... I don't have any in my house, just like my parents and grandparents, and my adult children. I don't really understand the need for them. Even for picnics we use reusable cutlery and plates. Paper and plastic plates (especially used at home) are a waste of natural resources and money, so wasteful and harmful to the environment. I'd rather greet my friends with inexpensive ( even mismatched but pretty) plates than with paper plates :) I am from France, where people rarely use paper plates at home, except perhaps for children's parties, and the same goes for most of Europe I guess. However, I am really thrilled about the worldwide efforts to ban non reusable plates, glasses. cutlery and straws.
