The thing is, this would have been nice to have been said at the time. Lucy was deemed problematic at the time, no one said anything or stood up for her. I remember all negative press she was getting, just horrible that only now is Drew standing up for her

Yes, I thought that was strange, too. This shows how it's so easy to change public perspective and undo damage to someone's reputation. If Drew had said this 20 years ago, Lucy wouldn't have been turned down for many roles.

This makes me like Lucy Liu even more - realistically she was the least known ‘star’ in the movie at that time, she was cast last minute as a replacement for somebody else, she was a young woman in a very sexist industry, also an ethnic minority and she STILL didn’t hesitate to confront the biggest star star on the set for his bad behaviour and stood her ground 🙌🏻

I love how this was handled. Props for Lucy having boundaries, no unnecessary dragged out grudge drama... professional adults moved forward and got their jobs done. Unless it's serious abuse worthy of litigating we don't need personal details and for one story to become the whole picture of the project and relationships.

I don't think Drew really said much of anything. She didn't get into the story that Lucy Liu had to be held back from hittting Bill Murray. That might have been an interesting fight to see how good Lucy Liu's Martial Arts training against a Tough Street Guy - Man- a Male like Bill Murry. But I guess it was good that she was held back they said and the Fight didnt' become physical. I know Bill Murray wasn't in the 2nd Charlie's Angels, but I don't think the Movie missed much from him not being there. He was a secondary, Comic Character. Bill Murray I think is a very talented Comic and Actor. But he defintely seem to have some demons that he needs to deal with. Richard Dreyfus say he was a Drunken, Irish Bully who not only became Verbally abusive, but threw an Ashtray at him that just missed him. Now there is some new complaint about him in his latest Movie. I think Bill Murray needs to Meet another Bill whose last name is Wilson.

Okay... I actually met Bill Murray around this time (the early 2000s). I lived in a small town and he stayed at a hotel my mom managed. the hotel had a pool and it was summer break - With nothing to do in a small town, my friends and I hung out around the pool most of the time. Bill Murray came to the lobby and checked in with the worst attitude you can imagine. Yelling about the ride to the hotel and how it's so effing quiet it is! It's like the town is a population of 6000... It's going to be quiet. He talked further about backward hicks and all that nonsense - My mom wasn't having any of it and told him politely to not treat her staff so rudely, he should be ashamed of his attitude and she can perform a full reimbursement and he can stay somewhere else. the next day, my mom walks into her office and the desk is filled with flowers with a note saying "I'm Sorry : ( , Bill ".

That surprises me. I always heard he was just a genuine nice guy. And he was always generous and kind to his fans. I heard once that he paid the tab in a restaurant for a group of about 10 people. As he was being brought to his table he passed them and saw that they were a having a grooms dinner. And he stopped and asked who the groom was? And he wished him a happy life and where they were honeymooning. He said Vegas and just went to his table. About half a hour later Bill left. And a hour later the party was asking for the tab. And they said Bill had already paid it. And handed the groom a envelope. It had a thousand dollars in it. With a note that said put it on black 18 Bill. That happened to a friend’s husband before their wedding. They framed the note. And it still sits on the wall 25 years later. I have a feeling he was just tired or in a bad mood. And at least he apologized to your Mom.

I love this and more importantly how everyone backed Lucy. It is important so people feel safe enough to speak up. I know when I first had the courage to speak up like many before me we were met with block outs and alienation. I love seeing the growth and improvements in this field.

It is widely known that Bill can let his personal life affect how he is on set. Groundhog Day was apparently a tough one too. It is great that Lucy stood up for herself. Hopefully both actors have moved on and can be civil if not friends in the future. I know of too many good stories about Bill and he is not a bad person but I have not met him or Lucy in person. I wish them both the best.

The whole conversation was that the woman had to protect herself when it should have been about the man's inability to control his.

I see what you're saying, but I somewhat disagree. What I heard was her explaining a situation in which two people were being who they were and refused to alter their behavior in order to get along. It was obvious who she sympathized with, but she wisely didn't make the mistake of suggesting how the situation should have been handled differently. That would have just made people angry. Bill was held accountable, however. He was replaced for the sequel.

My daughter came home from college this summer and we watched Charlie's Angels because it had just turned up on Netflix, and it was one of my fave DVDs of the early 2000s. The stylistic touches, the depth of the characters, the quality of each little detailed 'flourish' was every bit as spectacular as I remembered. My daughter can be hard to impress when it comes to films, but she's been on a 70's/silhouette artistic 'bent' ever since (she does fashion, photography, and theatrical costuming) and I like to think that our watching that movie together is what tipped her off. :) That film is still bad*ss 20 years later.

I fell in love with Drew and the whole main message of friendship when i watched Charlies Angels during my childhood, i remember at the time i wasn't a movie fan, i was very into music shows only, but i've got faccinated and wanted to be like them, these badass girls with golden hearts. i was very insecure at the time and that movie blew my mind, it was actually one of the first DVDs i bought. I think the first dvd movie i've got. It will always mean so much to me! ♥ If Charlies Angels 3 releases i'm gonna freak the hell out

I would love to be able to stand up for myself at work, but I can't exactly do that without getting fired. The thing is also that when you're gay in a very heteronormative workplace, you tend to not stand out too much, because that will cause even more issues so you stay low. I worked as Jimmy Fallon's stand-in on a movie set in Jacksonville, Florida in 2007 and I got to spend a couple of weeks working alongside Jimmy and Lucy Liu. She was actually very nice and funny. Never had any problems with either of them. Despite the image on film in fight scenes in several movies, I never felt intimidated by Lucy, either. She had a personality that lit up the room and she's also a small woman, maybe 5'2 and around 100 pounds. Sharon Stone also produced and acted in that movie.

GREAT INTERVIEW!!! I STILL WANNA SEE DREW IN ANOTHER FIRE STARTER MOVIE. And I legit just made the connection to the Fire Starter movie she did as a kid, to the song Fire Starter by Prodigy, that played in one of the epic fight scenes in Charlie’s Angels.

Please show me the documentary centered around Lucy showing up to random people’s homes and parties and brining food and drink and cleaning up the house afterwards. Bill is notoriously chill around people, it’s diva behavior and lack of craft that aggravate him. The only people that have ever said a bad word about bill and Lucy and Richard Drifuss, two people known for being difficult. Hence why Lucy doesn’t get work anymore, the rep got around

All lying women? Chevy Chase (though problematic too) almost came to blows with him at SNL too. I'm sure he's great to some people but that doesn't erase his douchey behavior.

I never understood why they didn't take advantage of making more movies especially because it was so successful. I miss watching all of their movies. But I was happy to see Lucy continue her work on tv shows for so many years. I don't think Cameron Diaz realizes how much of a hole she has left in our hearts because she's so funny and I always looked forward to watching her movies. I miss her......

The Firestarter was the first movie filmed here in Wilmington, NC after the studio was built in the early 80's.

The new movie should’ve been Drew as the new Bosley and the second movie to this new one could’ve been the backstory how the angels broke up or atleast met their match, giving the franchise another duo-movie release, letting the original girls give their opinion on the new castees and the plot, while also supporting the first movie that Drew’s character supposedly is bosley’s daughter.
