Here is my one year review of my Drew's Logger Boots.

1:21 people who refuse to support Mexican made products better keep that same energy about Canadian built products and arguably about Caribbean vacation resorts. That’s all included in our North American trade partners and immediate neighbors. They better be going out of their way to support products made in Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Hawaii, and Guam too. If not, then maybe our energy can be better used making sure products we buy are made responsibly, benefit the people making them, and don’t cause suffering (beyond hard manufacturing labor) for other people & their communities. Thanks again for doing this long term review series on these boots. The Drew’s loggers and contractor 6 in are near the top of my heritage boots to get lost thanks to mainly you and Carl Marowski.

That brown 8" looks so damn good. Thanks for all the videos on the Drew's Logger! I think this might be my first PNW boot. My fear is it will ruin me for all other boot styles. 😂
@maxwellhouseranch10044 ай бұрын
Your correct. Once you go PWN it's hard to find comfort in any other boots.

Great video. The boots looks killer. Leon makes wonderful boots and they have been for a VERY long time. Certainly a worthy option at a much lover price than most PNWs. People have choices on what they buy and where it was made. Get what you like and done worry about what others say or think!

I got the 8 inch black rough out 1 full size down from brannock in a 8.5. Fit is perfect. The fit and feel is every bit as good as my whites.

Agreed, they are just as good.

Got mine because of you and I do have to say that most people are sleeping on these. I do recommend going down a full size from brannock for anyone interested.

Ordered a pair a month ago, got them in, a little too big. Great company, sent them back, got the pair exchanged and my new pair is arriving Tuesday. They do run large in width. Was VERY IMPRESSED with the quality of my initial pair, stitching, leather, soles. Looking forward to receiving my boots! Love these things! And I’m going to hammer them.

I agree for your line of work. These are not the best boot, but they would be great in a really rough environment. Thanks for the comment. Have a great afternoon.

I ordered mine at the end of December, and I am still waiting... How/why did you manage to get your so quickly?
@NDB4694 ай бұрын
Some of their boots are available right away some are built to order, depending on availability. Their site doesn’t explain this directly but if you click on a boot go down and put in your size, if it says add to cart they’re available right away if it says build to order they’ll have to make them.

I brought the 8"logger boot about 6 months ago, never had a pacific northwest boot before but I wanted to try them out. I like the boot overall, they fit my foot really well and I have to say that they are more boot than I am used to, they are much heavier than my red wing moc toe or iron ranger. They will outlive me. I come to realize that I only use them when it is cold and also snowy outside. They gave me knee pain in the beginning but as I got used to the weight, the pain went away. If I worked outside in the dirt or climbing up hills, these would be great. But for finish carpentry where I am going up and down ladders or kneeling constantly, they are a bit too heavy, red wings is a better choice for the work I do. I will keep them in my collection and rotation because they are pretty cool boots and you never know when you need them to kick some butt.

I ordered a pair about a month ago. It took maybe 6 days and I had them. Faster than I ever thought. I ordered nicks a month ago and they said about 2 more months.. i haven’t been able to really put my Drew’s to work because it started to warm up a lot lately I been waiting for the right job to bust them out. But they feel unbelievably durable and solid. I do alot of residential work indoors so I wear whites perry select moc’s tobacco stamped and they are amazing for indoor work.

@@1htalp9 blew my mind too! Drew’s has sizes on the shelf right now. I’m a 11.5 D they had them ready to go. Brown smooth upper rough out bottoms. My first logger boot. Absolutely amazing
@raymondcausey39264 ай бұрын
And Drew’s size D is like a EE anywhere else. Super wide toe box definitely comfortable with 0 chance of pinky rub. So I would definitely look into the sizing before you order.
@williamswiger75472 ай бұрын
I am a 12D and went down a half to 11.5D. Length is perfect. No way I could have sized down more than a half. I do find them slightly wider even in a D width. Not sloppy, but slightly wider than other brands. Put some thin inserts in them.

Thanks for the update ! I just ordered mine and I can't wait to get them .What do you put on the Black boots oil or wax and why ?
@maxwellhouseranch10044 ай бұрын
It really depends on the climate. If it's dry out, just oil, if it's a wetter time of year wax. The wax repels water better that the oil.

HEADS UP!!! I just got my Drews loggers in 10" Black Combo. They are a $350 boot, not even close to a $600 PNW boot for less just because it's made in Mexico. . 1. Drews needs to change their description. The leather in my boots is NOT a 7.5-8oz leather. It is 6-6.5oz at best. I have a pair of Wesco Jobmasters (~$400 on sale), which are rated at 6.5oz, and the Drews are almost the same in the shaft and less in the vamp. My Nicks Roberts are 6.5-7oz W&C EB, and they are noticeably thicker and rated at 6.5-7oz. The lower vamp of the Drews has been heavily sanded to the point where almost all the roughout is gone, and has some smooth spots. They add an inside liner, which makes it almost as thick as the shaft leather, which is quite disappointing. The roughout leather for the vamp is very thin. 2. The overall build quality is EXCELLENT, so I don't blame the workers. However, the leather is a C grade in the vamp, and maybe a B grade in the upper shaft. -- I would NOT recommend these for actual Woodsmen or Firefighters. They are a good solid boot for an average homeowner for doing chores, and cutting some firewood etc, but not a real professional grade leather boot. For that, you need a reputable name like Nicks, JK, Whites or Franks.

The wait times and prices have increased. The price increase is $30 which is still worth it considering what you get. Their wait times have become something more like 4-5 months. I was offered a pair that were returned and I took them. They were received 4 months after my order date and my original order would've been built 5 months after I ordered them.
@maxwellhouseranch10042 ай бұрын
They have become quite a popular boot at that price point. I'm not surprised by the wait time. I'm happy to see they are busy with boot orders. The folks over there are salt of the earth and deserve to have a successful business. I'm glad you were able to obtain a pair.

I work on huge grading sites with either mud or dried mud everywhere, how have these held up to rough terrain and how good is the ankle support on those?
@maxwellhouseranch10044 ай бұрын
Excellent on both accounts.
@martinconroy99254 ай бұрын
How are they for comfort on the bottom of your feet? I have a pair of PNW boots and I find the uppers very comfortable, but the leather soles are just really hard. So, that is a downside.
@maxwellhouseranch10044 ай бұрын
They are really comfortable. Once the leather breaks in, there is nothing like it.
@coletonfuller53324 ай бұрын
It can be hard at first until your feet get used to it. But once your feet get used to it you will start to dislike squishy soles plus the leather molds to the shape of your foot over time and like he said there’s nothing like it

1:19 Just going to have to disagree here, there is nothing wrong with not buying them because they aren't made in the USA. How would you feel if it was your job that you lost because it was shipped overseas? If you want to buy them go ahead but there is no reason not to buy Made in America if you live here, especially when there is a product competing at the same exact price point and has options like a safety toe that these don't.
