I Built a Backyard Waterpark - Full Detailed Build

It's been a hot, dry summer... So what better way to cool down than with 20 gallons of water aggressively pouring on your head? I made this DIY backyard waterpark / splash pad and filmed every step of the way. Great backyard build for dads or grandpas.
Compete with a tipping bucket, floor jets, mister wall, DIY PVC water gun, tube water slide, rope tunnel, sandbox and rock wall. Budget was about $2500 USD with all new pieces.

my daughter is 8 years old, non-verbal autistic, and she is fascinated by water and slides. so im for sure going to be doing some version of this for her to play with for many years. nicely done

You should put a crossbeam with the plastic corrugated facing 45 degrees against the drop roof so that the bucket water gets angled more downward toward the drop zone instead of mostly in the yard....it will also guarantee the splash zone regardless of how much is in the bucket so that there's no disappointment of misfire. Looks awesome though!

This video made me remember my Brother and I playing in the front yard just running through the sprinkler and it was the best thing in the world at the time. Thank you, from the little kid named Ralph and his lil' Brother Mark that lived at 4509 Swiss Ave, Dallas Texas, late 1970's, hot summer day, in our front yard.

I watch a lot of these videos of people building stuff, and very few ever tell us what they are doing and why they are doing something a certain way. You, sir, are a welcome exception. You explain almost every inch of what you are doing, why this way or that way, and what something is for. Why can't they all do that? (grins)

This is such a great idea, you should add the whole thing onto a substructure (another deck) and make a sump, with a pump and filter that can fill a holding tank that's like a water tower for pressure and for water conservation.

I built a playground for my 3 grandchildren,I have the slides,the 2 towers,I couldn't figure out when there on the 2 nd level it's closed off and nowhere to go,until now I'm going to adapt what you have done to my playground😊,I love the gun idea great build.

Drew looks absolutly great, bet the kids find it so much fun, only worry would be the bolt heads on the base of the waterslide, what about silicone on a piece of lenghways cut in half pex over all the heads to ensure total safety from accident. Again Drew fantastic creation for the kids

You are a great father and Uncle for building your private little waterpark. The kids will have a lot of fun with it and it will be a good way to cool off when it's hot. Great job. I always look at these things like this, even if something will cost me to build something the same amount as store bought, at least i build the way i want to, not bought generically build like what others have. I would cover up al exposed bolts with a plastic bolt cover. That way you can't scratch yourself. For example at the slide entrance.
