For Holy Week, I’ve written and recorded an arrangement of a beautiful African-American spiritual. “Were You There?” was first published in 1899 and remains one of the most sung hymns of the Easter season. This arrangement utilizes five flugelhorns and features some rather haunting dissonance. Sheet music may be found at:

Hey, this is rsweet! Perfect timing for Easter! I can imagine the way it will really touch hearts as we celebrate the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus on the cross for the race of mankind! I will have to get four other flugelhorns before I can play it though..:!

Glad you like the music. No need to play of flugels. It works on trumpets also. At some point, I’ll probably do a version for a brass quintet, but this one had to be just me. I knew I could not get everyone to record on short notice.
