I was in a relationship between 17-19 years old with my first ever boyfriend, who was verbally and emotionally abusive. I’m now 31, in a healthy relationship expecting my first baby. I can honestly say that the wounds do heal over time, but the words never leave you. You never ever forget. Abuse changes people’s thought processes and can even change people down to their DNA. It lives in you. My prayers go out to anyone who is currently experiencing this or recently experienced something of this nature. You are stronger than you realise! 🙏🏾

I seen this on Instagram earlier, it's so triggering for someone like myself who has been I'm a abusive relationship & then you end up with Stockholm syndrome where you still love the person that abused you. But I would never go back even if they was the last person on earth. Know your worth and know that abuse of any kind in any kind of relationship is unacceptable and shouldn't be happening

When Itv news is speaking about this ...We know the sister career is pretty much over....another thing I noticed is when our people reach certain level they become mean to their own and nasty is sad 😔

I’m surprised she admitted to everything in the statement but overall it was very PR and clearly not written by her but I’m not sure what else people were expecting. Those voice notes have already shown us who she is and how she really feels about her behaviour. I can only hope she takes this as a warning to stop harassing her victims.

I'm 41 and in an extremely healthy relationship after exiting a narcissistic relationship. My advice is this: Communication + Self awareness X Action = Successful relationship. Both of us met at low points in our lives, but because we have both been "doing the inner work" for years, we understood that when we triggered each other, the trigger is a messenger to tell us that something needs healing. My girl triggered me today, because she said something that I didn't like. I said okay and went quiet. I looked for the reason why that triggered me, she reminded of my ex, who reminded of my Mum's dismissive nature at times. Whilst I'm processing my girl asks me if I'm okay, I say no and explain why. She immediately apologised and said "I have a very defensive inner child inside and she pushed against what you said I'm sorry." I took 2 deep breaths to release the tension and we hugged it out. This is how we manage any kind of conflict. It may not work for everyone, in 3 years we have never argued or even fallen out.

As someone who was in a physically and emotionally abusive relationship, who was stalked and felt unsafe in my home and campus and had to move and change job. What I will say, is you are absolutely right (in regards to both people needing to be whole), although I was hurting at the time, it was entirely to do with the relationship, prior to it, I was happy to be single, and happy with myself, even during the relationship I was independent, but that person definitely had severe issues. Which is NONE of my business. As adults, you need to learn to treat people appropriately, and we need to realise no amount of love on your part can fix the hate on their part. The hard reality, for those with stockholm syndrome, is no one who loves you would even wish you harm, never mind cause it themself! There is serious hate involved, and after breaking you down, isolating you, making you think your crazy. The one advice I would give someone else, is there is no guarantee they will not take your life, you can rebuild your life, you can be happy again, but they NEED to go. At any and all means.

A ex partner strangled me and left bruises over my body. He was arrested but later released by the police for no further action…as there was no witness… 💔 as I was, I decided to take some time to myself, heal and be kind to myself and forgive this person. Nothing is more rewarding than when a DV victims comes out the other end ! Healthy physically, mentally and spiritually! Never give your abusers Power to make you feel less or your life is over! You are strong and resilient! I pray for everyone who don’t have the strength and those who got out before it was too late peace, strength and self happiness! Do Not be with someone who had past trauma that they have not worked on!
