I was afraid you were gonna call me out on the FUT comment 😅 Not sure where I heard that. But to answer a couple of your questions: -The topical treatment i was using before was minoxidil -The 26 was for the estimated 2,600 total grafts. I talked them down.. -The lower line drawn was their suggestion. I made them raise it to my actual hairline (the upper line) -They did 50 grafts on each of my temples. Not sure why. Why just to add texture? Thanks for the video! I learned a thing or 2 :)

The photo at 0:57 is from IRAN, not Turkey. The name of the man who took the photo is Reza Baeedi, which is not a Turkish name. I'm Turkish and I got surprised by the clinic room in the photo. Firstly, our plastic surgery/hair transplant clinics don't have 10 people shoved in a room getting hair transplants. Secondly, all the women wearing headscarves in the photo also points to it being from Iran. Low cost in Turkey doesn't mean it's bad quality. Our currency is losing value against the euro and dollar which is why it is cheap for foreigners. It's still quality care. Just like how there are some bad plastic surgeons in America and Europe, the same with Turkey. It's important to do research obviously before getting hair transplant or plastic surgery. I hope you do more reactions on plastic surgery in Turkey, this was very interesting!

@@drgarylinkov great but it doesn't help when the topic is on Turkey and there are already lots of misinformation about the country. And because turkey is a secular country with controversial views on religion, such depiction would cause Turkish people to be extremely offended by the visual. The visual depiction is very offensive and infuriating. I wonder if the Dr use exactly the same words for Brazil would you choose that photo.

@@drgarylinkov Where he specifically said Turkey before hand. Doubling down on ignorance and spreading misinformation - specifically talking about Turkey and throwing up an image of Iran is misleading. Trying to claim otherwise that it was just a 'visual representation' rather than a clear mistake of a lazy editor using the first image they found is a poor representation of what type of clinic I would assume Dr. Linkov runs.

Living in Istanbul, I can definitely confirm that this is a HUGE business. The value of your dollar/euro is higher than ever before making overall costs and labor extremely cheap as well. Foreigners love the personal pick up, in a ‘fancy’ van, the driver, being brought to a nice hotel, the attentiveness of many staff, the extra gimmicks (all very cheap thanks to your valuable €$£) etc. I don’t know anything more than that but I’d be searching the heck out of the clinic I’d eventually be choosing and listen to your gut, not the ‘don’t worry, everything will be great’ talk you’ll often get. There are indeed many success stories, which is great. (And beware of things like ‘Turkey Teeth’ if you are considering getting dental work done as well) Also; Istanbul is expecting huge earthquakes, make sure your hotel and clinic safe new buildings (preferably built within the last 5-8 years). 60% of buildings in the city are considered unsafe 🥲

You can tell this guy was not prepared at all, nor was he educated enough to get surgery. He shouldn't have gone for the low hairline as it will absolutely screw him over later in life. Also, I didn't think his hair loss was that bad in the first place. I don't think he would have needed surgery at all. But definitely at most should have done just 1000 grafts in the corners. If the surgeons are not going to have a conservative approach then I would be skeptical on the quality of the actual transplant as well.

They all agreed he is an approachable, understanding guy with good bedside manner and that he was present in the clinic (you'd think docs who have this kind of presence online sometimes tend to become more of a celebrity and maybe delegate actual work on workers, but it wasn't the case with him). What's your opinion with using oil on the scalp for hair thinning/ loss?? I find it helps with itching. Thanks :)
@Lootzuh
@Lootzuh Жыл бұрын
waste of time and money. stick to using FDA approved treatments for hairloss like finasteride and minoxidil instead of random oils that "could" or "might" help which are based on very limited data.

Hi Dr Linkov, would you have a face lift before or after hair transplant surgery?

Do you have such videos for female hair loss? I have been thinning out and losing my hair at the front and midline, and having a lot of difficulty finding reliable sources for surgical options for women. It's barely talked about that women get that problem.

I have the same hairline as Brett post-surgery and Im planning in like 3 years on getting a hair transplant. I am def not touching the front like he did. Seems like he got it paid for, but didnt do his research (im guessing). But, to each their own, I think it will still look great, tho.

The thing that bothers me is that he acts like he wasn’t flown out, put up in a luxury hotel, and then offered the surgery at no cost (or a heavily discounted cost). On top of that, the facility would obviously put forth greater effort on him since he’s a walking advertisement for them. His entire video is a commercial for them and totally biased.

Dr. Gary, I have been using the finesteride 1 mg and Rogaine for about 5 years now and its been working pretty well to keep my hair line. but now i am starting to see the loss of effectiveness and starting to see more diffuse hair loss on top of my head. Is this normal ?

I got my hair transplant in January, 2022, in Istanbul. And I am VERY happy with my results! I got it on my frontal and crown regions. The crown area is taking longer to grow, but it’s better than where it was before January - BARF! I am now on finasteride, applying jojoba oil at night, and to protect my investment, I am wearing a hat when the sun is strong outside.

Hi Dr - thanks for sharing valuable information over the channel and website. One quick question - I didn't do a good job in cleaning my scabs which was identified in my 3 month follow up with the doctor. I observed canal-like things over my scalp. After that, I cleaned my scabs where I saw a lot of hair coming out. Doctor did say that those hair were supposed to fall out but were glued to skin. I am curious how that will affect my transplant results. Did my untimely clean up of scabs would have damaged my roots, or will it delay my results, if yes by how much? I heard from somewhere that if you don't clean scabs, then it can cause inflammation and can decrease survivability. Is it true? I am at 5 months now but don't see a good density yet. Please share your honest thoughts. Thanks

I’m not a doctor but I know it’s common for the implanted hair to fall out and grow back. It’s called “shock loss”. But because the root is secure way before a month, I think you’ll be fine. Also, I read you should give yourself atleast 8 months to a year to see true density results. Now that you know to clean better, just keep up your good regimen 👍🏽

I got two FUE procedures. 1st in 2019 in miami.. paid $8000 and recieved 1800 graphs. Eent to Turkey in August of 2022 and paid $2800 and received 2800 graphs.with 5 star Hotel and transportation. In Turkey you pay per procedure not graphs. They make there money based on customer referals so they are huge about customer satisfaction. There is no comparison as to my experience in Miami vs Instambul. If your are thinking about getting this done.. go to Turkey.. trust me..

Brett had a completely normal hairline. Ive got the same thing going on - just the corners coming in (have a widows peak so I didn’t notice until i was like early 20s)- i cant imagine getting a hair transplant unless the front of your hairline starts receding. It just means i wouldn’t look good with a buzz cut like Brett there
