Thanks dude, Ive picked up this game yesterday again and I'm monitoring my progress over a week. I'll update this post everyday until next Saturday if that's okay. Day 1 : Practised for about 3 hours, used the RX7 for the majority of the session, although I tried to use the Lexus, I was more accustomed to the Mazda, I wasn't able to keep good/long drifts because I was struggling to correctly press the inputs. Day 2 : Practised for about 2 hours the morning and decided to record my progress and to get a routine. Warming up for about 10 minutes on the Camden port then cruising around the city (mostly Rockport and the highways). I made the choice to install a mod which increases the traffic density to improve my anticipation. On this same session, I decided to switch cars to test which one fit the best, turns out the Supra is a really good drift car too. During the first and second session, I drastically improved my manner of handling drifts. With the said tuning in the video, the Scandinavian technique works really well. Day 3 : Had school for about 10 hours today, I thought I wasnt gonna be able to play today because i had some homework but luckily managed to get a 2/3 hour session. Today, OBS went nuts which means i have around 30 minutes of low frame rate footage and 20 minutes of usable recordings, I was pretty pissed off lmao. Anyways, when I hoped onto NFS, while driving to the docks in Camden and while being in it, I finally learned (kinda) how to correctly countersteer and balance my left and right turns to keep the drift going, turns out I was too brutal the first 2 days. Anyways after a quick warmup, I decided to roam around Rockport City to improve my countersteering, I did sooooo well I'm so proud LOL. I'm pissed off by one thing which is my first real drift around the highway loop (bottom-left corner of the map) was in the low frame rate recording which means you can't see anything. Anyways, I had a very good session today, I genuinely can't wait for tomorrow's session, I'm even more hyped because of my studying hours tomorrow (I have my entire afternoon free). P.S. Listening to music (DnB, Breakcore and Phonk) helps me getting in the mood to drift lol, I guess I should continue doing that. P.S. I'm probably gonna make a video on my 7-day progress, I think it could be very interesting to watch P.S AGAIN FwB, if you see this, I recommend you not to pin my comment as of now since editing the comment while it being pinned does not work, thanks:)) Also, hearting it is okay but I think it undos the heart whenever editing so try not doing it too lol Day 4 : Today was a weird day, I wanted to chill with a friend, but I vc'ed with the type of guy who makes you laugh whatever he says so yeah I tried to practice doing long drifts for 3 hours with this friend in call lolll, anyways after this funny session, I decided to take a shower to chill and relax because, yeah you know. Decided to hop onto MW again after this to really practice now, and I did really well, I played some music to get in the mood and yeah I think I'm really getting the hang of it! I also decided to try out some other cars to see if they drift well and the mitsubishi is awesome for that, still using the supra tho. Anyways I think i'll practice fully drifting tomorrow before hopping onto tricks and stuff (360s, dodging traffic and all) P.S. forgot to add that starting cop chases adds an intense feeling to drifting its pretty neat, ill try getting chased with a 5 or above heat level (with extraoptions) because that could be fun to do! Can't wait for tomorrow (probably wont play that much, lots of homework :/ ) Day 5 : Really happy with the results of today, did not really play that much (I was more focusing on NFS 2015 and osu! today), countersteering is getting really easy and I'm starting to get long, good and consistent drifts, I might completly disable traffic tomorrow. I want to practice some drift tricks now, I've heard and seen by myself that the game wont let you spin out, altought this is really sad, I may have an idea on how to counter this, when trying to spin out, I think letting go all of the inputs then steering again might do the trick, I really want to start doing some reverse entries and maybe 360s. Anyways that is probably it for today, I may not have the time to play tomorrow (huge ass school day tmr) P.S. I'm also really hyped for NFS 2022s premiere, don't know for you but I am :) Day 6 : 11 hours of school today :/ wasnt able to do any sessions today sadly, also almost forgot to bring back my computer home (needed to bring it to school for multiple reasons), anyways, I'm finishing my school tmr at 2pm so I'll have a lot of time to practice, I have an idea on how to spin out, guess I'll try tomorrow ! P.S. Damnn NFS 2022s trailer looks dope, can't wait :)) Day 7 : Final sessions of my week progress thingy ! Hopped on NFS at 3pm and played for about 4/5 hours in 3 sessions and I think I'm mastering drifting now :) I can link multiple drifts at slow and/or fast speed, dosing my throttle is mastered now, as well as countersteering! I have also tried to do reverse entries and 360s but without success, altough I learnt how to do donuts and to drift around roundabouts for a good minute, I can definitely say that this tutorial has helped me, I'm definiteley gonna see if I can replicate this technique in other games, I'm pretty sure I can :) Also here is the tuning I have been using on the Supra and RX7 (my 2 main drift cars), this may not be super efficient for other players as these are my preferences (with a PS3 controller) : Steering +5 Handling -5 Brakes +5 Ride Height 0 / -2 Aerodynamics -5 (Nitrous -5) Turbo -5 Definitely gonna make a video on my 7 day progress in the future, it may take a time to script and edit so I really don't know, anyways I had a lot of fun learning how to drift :) was a pleasure to watch the video too

They need to just remake this game entirely with added features. Day/night transition, more cars, harder challenges, bigger map and more customization. This game is still the best NFS hands down ‼️

Dude drifting smoothly for yourself in Underground 2 and Most Wanted just feels so calming and chill. (especially Hillside Manor, Lighthouse and free Roam in U2)

You can get huge angle by downshifting after pressing the handbrake. You can hold a drift with the handbrake if you feel like you undershot a corner too. But you need to be in the correct gear to spin your wheels and avoid straightening the car out of the corner

Man, I've been drifting my own way with with the oversteer option and a keyboard, while being chased by cops at the same time since 2016, I didn't know that this is possible, and since this will be fun, thanks man! I can now perform badass cop chases! Thanks dude!

Dude, I had a blast with this! Granted, I am playing on PS2 and don't have all the upgrades unlocked yet so it was a slight bit more difficult for me, but the drifting still feels really smooth. Thanks for the tutorial!

I'm glad people are still playing this game, which is regarded as a classic in this day and age. I looked up "how to drift" expecting old answers from 2006 xD, so I'm pleasantly surprised to find this video. I remember when I first picked this game up. I had it for the GameCube and the Xbox 360. I'm Replaying the GameCube version on my Wii since that's the version I was most familiar with. Definitely a masterpiece.

you should use nfs xtended input when using a controller as it allows you to hold throttle and brake at the same time without the triggers cancelling each other out

It also works best with Lotus Elise car when driving with keyboard. It is so cool but you have to frequently use Speedbreaker to balance your car from sliding to straight position when you want to stop drifting. After you stop using Speedbreaker and your car is almost straight, use Nitromethane( kidding , it is obviously nitro) to balance the car properly.

I used this setting for years but now i decided its better not to buy any handling upgrades just lower the down force. That way you get to change direction much quicker

Automatic transmission in Most Wanted is much better, UG2 was quite dumb and it upshifted on jumps and during drifting ruining the flow.

I do wish there was a mod to make the handling of these games to be more like the recent ones. Burnout Brake to Drift handling is what I enjoyed the most and it's hard for me to play these older games because it's very hard to drift with the cars I want to use. :c

My additional tips : First, downgrading your suspension package is not worth it, it's just the worse you can do over minus your handling to -5. It will be useful if you have a wide map mod or if you want to drive drifting constantly. *HYBRID HANDLING SETUP:* Minus ride height does not influence the drift when your handling is minus. BUT minus ride height is highly needed when your handling is 0 or +. Minus ride height helps your car to stay in slide at minimum drift angle, and allows you to take speed in drift. This setup allows you driving handy and being able to drift, so you enjoy the driving experience more freely and can run from cops level 5 if you are good enough driver. The best area on the map to fine tune your setup is the Downtown Rockport Loop near the stadium, because you all the time pass with the same speed and see every little differences. Example tune settings of my RX-8 : Config 1 (hybrid handling setup) +1 +3 +2 -4 -2 +1 0 Config 2 : (Full drift setup) +1 ‐1 -2 -5 -5 +1 -1

Hey guys, ive been drifting on this game for almost 2 years and i just wanted to say something: DONT absolutely DONT put tires on your car, it makes drifting much harder, and if you need to turn your car quickly let out the gas for like half a second while you do the turn, the car is gonna turn much faster, i hope i helped and DONT put tires on your care its just worse, bye :D

I used to drift my rx7 at the exact same spot. I just don’t get why we can’t get these handling mechanics in the current games. I get it’s new developers but why not take the blueprint on what the people want instead of creating their own new physics & thinking it will be fine. It’s a reason why this game at the time out sold every game & is a platinum hits game.

Empiezan así: 3ra marcha en adelante, mantienen el acelerador, giran poco, sueltan el acelerador, bajan de marcha y presionan el freno de mano rapidamente para empezar a derrapar, despuén, elijen su flecha, empiezan a acelerar y, después de acelerar, mantienen la otra flecha junto con la flecha que habían elegido, todo esto ocurre en fracciones de segundos. Para driftear, conseguir mantener el derrape en serpientes, viene el tercer paso paso: girar al otro lado y continuar el derrape de largo. Mientras mantienen la tecla izquierda y derecha y están derrapando con su coche, es decir, siguen tal cual habian dejado el anterior paso; suben y bajan de marcha rápidamente, y el coche empezará a derrapar hacia el otro tomando una línea recta de derrape, lo hace a veces ya que tienen que intentarlo para mejorar su +1 -1 de marcha rápidamente. Notas: mientras están derrapando notan que ya no perderan velocidad debido a la mecánica increíble que tiene este juego, no estoy bromeando. Esto sirve para cualquier coche incluso uno de los 3 primeros. Science drifting scene in most wanted is growing up i'm obligated to serve the information Because i invanted it durring ps2 days and i was doing this using boss cars:D...I didn't knew that clip was from modded version and i was trying recreate it:D You don't need low aerodynamic but it helps, you can drift on automat but you need work more gas, same with keyboard, working gas can improove your drift on analogues controlers such as sterring wheel and pad, If you don't upgrade tieres you perform better, if car got installed some tieres downgrade as possible:) Now go and spread knowlage:D

My drift Set for Mitsubishi Eclipse: Engine: Ultimate Steering +5 Transmission: Ultimate Handling -5 Suspension: Pro Brakes -5 Nitrous: Ultimate Ride Height -5 Tires: Pro Aerodynamics -5 Brakes: Sport (or how's it called) Nitrous +5 Turbo: Ultimate Turbo +5 Very good drift on Mitsubishi Eclipse (on a controller)

here is a tips from me: -just install bodykit and a spoiler(and hood if you want to) since installing a roof scoop will make your car ugly. -install only engine, transmission, nitro, and turbo(or supercharger) and leave others unupgraded(i tried this settings to drift in the ps2 version of the game, and since it works for me i would share to others too) -set the aero to -5, turbo +5, and nitro +5. -i would suggest you using mustang, supra, or any other powerful cars for drifting, since it will help you drifting longer in some roads like the circle road thing in rockport highway(and remember! never use fwd cars, they suck).
