this is gonna be a sweet ripper, super easy to access everything, 29tooth with the 3900kv seems to be good for a decent speed. 911 painted gold flake would be awesome.

I would put in a Hobbywing 10BL120 ESC and a Surpass Rocket V4 8.5T motor.

Rich... this car needs the Castle Creations Sidewinder 4 ESC and 3800kv sensored motor. Or maybe the Mamba Monster X ESC so you can utilize the sensored capability of the 3800kv. The Castle SW4 ESC / 3800kv combo is priced around $135.00 on AmainHobbies. Pretty good deal for a reliable 3s combo. In my opinion, drift cars are better suited with sensored systems because it's nice to have those precise initial inputs on the throttle.

I would use a 3800kv and now lower than a 80amp esc. The spur gear is 66 tooth which is kind of small in the world of on road cars so you'll need a setup that's not going to over heat when pushed hard (the stock flux esc will go into thermal shit down when I push mine too hard) There are tons of cheap combos online (goolrc, redcat, even the ezrun combo is less than 80 bucks. As far as bodies go pick the Porsche. Your wheel tire choice will look kind of odd on the BMW. If you were to build a drift car I'd say BMW body, but touring style definitely the Porsche

Yes you do but it gives you a lot of flexibility as you can choose what you like

Ew... no. VXL 3s is the least reliable of any system for the $. It's a decent system. But they have overheat issues, even with the fan. And it's a 2 pole motor which is not the best for drift because torque is what you want, not max RPM. So 4 pole is the way to go.
