It has always been a dream to go to Japan and to see the cherry trees in bloom. I have also wanted to go for 1 year to learn as much as I can from one of Japan's many high quality carpentry schools. I love practicing new joinery, and so far japanese and Korean are my favorites to do. I will be incorporating what I have learned so far from books to my new shop interior this Spring. As few fasteners as possible. Just dowels and a lot of through joinery. This is a beautiful rack and I love the portability of it.

Tashi my friend happy to see you are still making videos. All the cherry trees in bloom must be a beautiful sight to see. Once again you made something that I never thought about, but now must go make one! I cannot believe that there are that many desks in all of Japan. There has to be a secret tree that grows them!😀 Hope you and your family are well! Will

Hello friend Will. Thank you for watching my video as usual. And thank you for your sincere and wonderful comments. Now, in Japan, the soaring price of imported timber has not stopped. It's already more than double the price. I hesitate to buy! !! The desk top of this school has always been the cornerstone of my project and salvation. Thank you for coming Will ... Tachi
@wizardwillbonner2 жыл бұрын
@@TachiOhyo56 As always my friend, the pleasure is mine. I understand about the price of lumber, and the sad part most of it comes from here! It's even ridiculously outrageously over priced, like our food and gas. Do I spend my $5 on a 2x4, a gallon of gas or a loaf of bread? Most of the world can thank the moron in the White House and his puppet master Soros for the world's problems! I tease you about your desk top projects, you recycle them into functional works of art that are so practical. A big percentage of your viewers watch and think to themselves " He makes that look so easy, wow why didn't I think of it? I'll make one for my shop!" That is why you have the following that you do. Simple, easy to make, normal tools and skills that anyone can do. Even without the desktops!😀 I would like to see you use all the tiny scrapes cut up into small pieces, then glued together in random patterns, inside a frame to make a door. If anyone could, it would be the master! Stay well!

Hello Karl Thank you for watching my video as usual, And thank you for your nice comments. This plywood is the top plate of a school desk for disposal, and my friend got it from a recycler and supplied it to me. Tachi

bonjour Taichi une question pourquoi vous mettez deux colles differentes pour coller les blocs Comme d'habitude vous regarder travailler est un plaisir
@TachiOhyo562 жыл бұрын

What kind of boards are these? School desk? Plywood is excellent. In my area (post-communist Europe), school desks were made of thick laminate (umacart), but made of chipboard and formerly of blockboard.

Hello Radek Thank you for coming to my workshop. Yes, this plywood is a scrap of the top of a school desk that would have been used for 20 years! My friend got it from a recycler and supplied it to me. The board types are regular overlapping plywood and MDF type, and of course the surface is a durable laminate. This material is a help for my project. Thank you Radek ... Tachi from Japan
