A total strip down of KR554RE driller (including the Carbon brush). Made by Black & Decker, a perfect tool to open and explain what's inside and how it works in a fairly strait forward manner.

We have same tools..my chuck drill not rotating, but I hear the motor humming. What maybe the problem?

When it is not in hammering mode this lever prevents the drill chuck spindle to mobe backwords hence prevent these grooves to touch each other thus stopped hammering mode.. When u put this lever in hammmering mode these two groves came in touch with each other when u press drill against working piece thus creating hammerling actio n

Any idea how to replace the chuck ? Isn’t it standard on this model?? Thanks

I don't have a very good idea about standard models. But this chuck has screw at the center of the chuck (visible when the mouthpiece is wide open). Clockwise to unscrew it. The chuck pops out after jiggling it a little.

Anuj Falcon thanks for your quick reply , as I can see in your video it seems to be attached together with the gear , I can’t see any screw inside , I ve tried a few different size of keys but nothing seems to get into it..

Did you try opening it ? It could be just a broken trigger/ plastic piece. I am not sure if you can get that kinda part from market. Lete know if you can trace back why it's not working ...
