Very interesting. At school we were always afraid of drilling rivets and enlarging the hole. It was actually one of the projects on the sheet metal block. I understand now that being afraid does more harm than being confident and pay attention to what you are doing. Thanks for the videos.

What about the thought that there are times where removing the rivet can do more damage than leaving it alone. Note I’m not talking about a completely tilted rivet, etc. but the relative strength I have been told is very small with slightly overdriven rivets.

Yes, that’s true. No need to drill out a rivet that is not totally perfect. Use your judgement, especially if it’s in a difficult place.
