Yep, similar here. probably wouldn't have ever got into Gong otherwise but that European style with a lot of the band being French and other European nationalities just stuck with me, its a weird mix of psychedelia with experimental sleazy jazz, like a more outlandish Frank Zappa

It even shocked me as I was making it. Deforum isn't an exact science, you just suggest to it what you want it to do and usually it does exactly what it wants and blows your mind as it does so. I don't control Deforum as an animation tool, I'm just ballast along for the ride, lol

Really unnerving at times isn't it? Its hard to explain to people, although I try, how weird and uncontrollable Deforum is to work with. With 99% of A.I platforms there are standards and guidelines to work to, there is a company or people at the other end who say, 'sorry that's against company guidelines', or 'sorry that's too weird or risky to publish' but this is stable diffusion, we are through the looking glass here, no stops or checks, it will do what it wants to do. You can give it instructions but like a wayward teenager it will go off story and stun you to silence at times. You think this is dark and demented, you should see the stuff even I have to take out...In the next vid I'm taking you and everyone else for a trip around my workspace to show the projects I'm working on (as a weird animation of course)

Both I think. This is one of hose animations that shocked even me. I had no idea what was going to come out of the other end when I put the initial prompts in there. Deforum has a way of taking you by surprise. Even I don't know what's going to come out. Its like unwrapping a gift every time I go to look what its come up with. Surprisingly I still have animations which I'm hesitant to post that are weird and disturbing even by my standards (Be afraid)

@@francolliI am going to re-watch your videos at half speed to catch all the quick transitions. I remember one of the the Giger videos flashed through changes pretty fast and there was a lot going on there.

Thanks 🔥 Deforum has a way of just messing with my head. I think about an animation idea for a long time and how I'm gonna do it, at the point of starting work its quite a painful experience as it has been in my head a while and I need to get it out quickly like some stream of consciousness gonzo thing. I sometimes think I would rather take a lot longer to get things right before I publish but it's a struggle not to get something done quickly as I need to get it off my chest. Its quite euphoric once I hit the publish button as I don't need to think about it any more

Yep, I'm so happy I got this out of my head and onto a screen. It was quite light hearted as I was doing it but just got darker and darker as I went along, It was quite a relief to get it out of my skull by the end

As a guitar player it didn't take but hearing Hillage in the 70s to know how great he is & Gong was along with Pierre Morlen & the rest of them. Er...can I use the fifth amendment at this point? I was overseas recently and saw a DJ do his set at the edge of a hotel swimming pool in a huge crazy DJ booth with loads of young people freaking out with the music. I thought I could do better at some point if I could occupy the DJ booth and have a huge screen at each side of the booth with giant Deforum animations on there as I did my set. That would be so cool!

It weird yet beautiful in a strange kind of way. I kind of switch between emotive abstract animations and odd strange weirdness. I'm sure I will do more of the weird side as time goes on and my skills in animation grow. Thanks for dropping by, stay tuned for more stuff

@@lenaduchannes2749 I grew up listening to Gong, some really great albums out there and the best are the trilogy of three albums Flying teapot, Angels Egg and the third which this track is from is an album called 'You'. All three bring back some really good memories

I was thinking 1968 but yep you are definitely in the ball park ! I love Alice stories and have a long standing relationship with Gong as a band so the two just seem to go together

I still do most of my creations with Kaiber and Tangra. Kaiber was slamming when Midjourney got started. My problem with Midjourney was that you HAD to have Discord to use Midjourney and I have major issues with Discord. Your work is the BEST I have viewed . You must be one good prompt author. @@skystraveler2036 I was one of the last holdouts to stay away from Midjourney for the same reason with discord. I was still using Dall E 2 and keeping up with MJ users, damn I could make Dalle 2 sing and it frustrated every other user as they didn't understand what I was doing to make it so good. I only jumped to MJ when Dall e 3 came out and sucked the life out of Dall E 2. I wish I could have a local version of Dall E 2, I would drop MJ in a heartbeat. I will soon be local with a lot of stuff so may even make the permanent jump to stable diffusion which is the wild west of A.I art, no boundaries or safety nets, nobody like MS or Bing to tell you that you cant draw that its too weird, just no guard rails at all. I used it briefly recently and had to tamp it down myself. Art should be about how far the artist is prepared to go to get some sleep at night (Something you aren't gonna do in Bangkok for sure, lol) Glad to have you around, not many of us left from back in the day. 30 years at least without mobile phones or internet, damn we are making up for that now

@@exect01 you arrived at a good time, I've had six months of practice with deforum now, ok it still fights me and refuses to do what I want at times but I've learned some of its psychopathic tendencies lately so things will only get weirder from this point going forward

Hi Alex. Not long really, maybe a couple of hours. Deforum is a great tool but not much use without a vivid imagination. Are you thinking about doing some stuff yourself?

I'm using a different technique where I spend less than an hour on a minute-long clip, but it requires working with multiple neural networks and having several Google accounts. I admit, for beauty, my technique falls short of yours. Wishing you great clips and increasing views!

Yeah man, let me know when you have something online I'm intrigued. Maybe you would like to collaborate with both systems in the same animation at some point. I also do sound stuff and today I'm expecting my new synth setup to arrive so will be experimenting with self generative music, just program stuff in, plug in multiple patch leads and let it do what it wants at random while I sit there with a coffee listening to what it comes up with. Your stuff is pretty mind blowing. I watched some of it and had no idea how you got to where you ended up. I've learned with this stuff that sometimes its better to just sit back and enjoy without questioning how it was done. The imagination is the key issue. its such a powerful tool. You have your imagination and I have mine, both are unique and produce wild results. I keep telling people that you can have all the best technology but without an idea and an imagination it just doesn't work. Someone with a good imagination can take the simplest tools and far outperform someone with a giant computer system and an RTX 4090. Your brain is your best asset@@Alex_Frizz

@@francolli, you're absolutely right, in any movie, including a short film, the most important thing is the author's imagination. But the tools are also important, although secondary. It would be interesting to see your videos created with a tool like Suno (song creation).

Yep its A.I generated, well at least with me doing the initial artwork and movement stuff for it do its own thing, its stable diffusion based using an offshoot of stable diffusion called Deforum. There are various Deforum animations around you tube but it rarely shows the laborious amount of work that goes into it before you hit the start button

Those shrums were the freshest I had, lol. The out of date ones led to the bits of animation I had to leave on the cutting room floor. Even I got too freaked out with some stuff and had no choice to cut it out as it freaked even me out

Thanks udo. Not sure of your nationality but I am now putting up subtitles in various languages for the animations that have speaking parts. I had not thought of foreign viewers and subtitles until you appeared. Don't worry I will not be doing animations with speaking very often as I feel it excludes non English speakers. Pure animation without dialogue works for everyone.
