Drip irrigation Explanation :
Drip irrigation is a method of watering plants in which water is delivered directly to the roots of the plants through a network of tubing, emitters, and valves.
It is considered a highly efficient method of irrigation because it delivers water directly to the roots of the plants where it is needed, rather than watering the entire field or garden.
The water is delivered to the plants at a low pressure, and in small quantities, typically through small holes or emitters in the tubing.
This allows the water to be delivered directly to the root zone, where it can be absorbed by the plants.
Drip irrigation systems can be designed to deliver water to individual plants, or to large areas of crops.
Drip irrigation systems have a number of advantages over other irrigation methods, such as:
1)Increased efficiency: Drip irrigation can reduce water use by as much as 50% compared to other irrigation methods.
2) Increased crop yields: Drip irrigation can improve crop yields by providing the plants with a consistent and controlled supply of water.
3)Reduced erosion: Drip irrigation reduces soil erosion by delivering water directly to the roots of the plants, rather than allowing it to run off.
4)Reduced weed growth: Drip irrigation reduces the amount of water that is available to weeds, making it difficult for them to grow.
5)Better control over water distribution: Drip irrigation systems can be designed to deliver water to specific areas of a field or garden, allowing for better control over water distribution.
6)Drip irrigation systems can be used to irrigate a wide variety of crops, including vegetables, fruits, and ornamental plants. It is also used in landscaping and garden irrigation.
