It's not a proper build series, and it's not a true Quickview, so here it is in all of it's long-winded glory. Some assembly, some mistake-making, some fiddling about-- but I think we got there. From box of parts to wheelin' in one video, so that's pretty good. Though it does help to have watched the July 12 livestream, if only to watch a grown adult confused by simple arithmetic for a few hours.

comparing the brazin frontline to the zoku as far as being a bolt on is apples to oranges. The flatline and hardline from brazin are direct bolt ons for the vrd/stance. otherwise great video, thank you for your support! And as i continue the video, having the stability without giving up any ground clearance, and in fact ADDING clearance under the skid is something we focus on a lot at brazin.

I didn't test the Flatline or the Hardline, did I? So me stating that the Frontline is not a bolt-on chassis is something I would call "accurate."

My biggest takeaway is don’t bother with a stubby kit and outruner unless you are going with a skid forward design. Vanquish did a great job engineering this truck to run with an inrunner.
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Ай бұрын
Agreed on all points. The stubby is only for specific builds, like this one. The Fusion Pro remains the perfect partner for a VFD/Twin.
@henryoak2001
@henryoak2001 Ай бұрын
@@CrawlerCanyonI learned this the hard way, did the stubby conversion then spent two weeks tuning it to bring it back to near parity - this weekend I reverted it back to inrunner setup. It behaves much more predictably now. As far as battle id love to bring my Artful Dodgers Pathfinder by for a comparison.

@@JC-Nor-Cal well, it started as a Stance, so that adds an extra $300 to the total right off the bat. There's like 40% of the rig left over. Probably more.

Glad I’m not the only one noticing the XHX pins sometimes are better than the S4. Overall I’m favoring the S4 pins 90% of the time. The 10% the XHX is better it’s noticeably better though.
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Ай бұрын
I'm now seeing the S5 compound as Injora's version of Predator. It's not gonna like heat. But in the right environment, I posit that beats the XHX pin for the money, or even really comes close. You have to spend at least twice as much for similar performance. I'll still be running Comp Pins most of the time because, you know, the desert. Zero vehicles in the Canyon Fleet on Predator compound tires. I'd take S5 over Predator in a heartbeat-- same level of performance, same drawbacks, less than half the price.

That glitching in your specific throttle band might be AM32 settings that control the change between sine (that slow slow we love) and normal mode. Try increasing the "sine Startup Range" in the AM32 settings to see if that moves that glitching up in the throttle band at least.

That's good info to know-- but in this came, not my rig, not my radio, not my problem. He says he's going to replace the VT-1 with a Spektrum, so my interest in trouble-shooting it instantaneously dropped to zero.

I'm trying to figure out what's left of the original Stance (more math!), and it doesn't seem like the initial $500 gets the discerning consumer much for their investment. I think this just hammers home the point that the VRD Carbon is the far better canvas for creating what you want.
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Ай бұрын
Oh, never buy a Stance-- and by extension, the VRD straight kit and the VS4-10 Builder's Kit. They all offer catastrophically bad value. If you want a VRD Carbon, you'd better buy it soon, as I'm 99.9% sure it's going to get "detuned" to the same level as the awful straight kit pretty quickly.

hardcore link ends hmm. I did not like them, 20 mins. of crawling oblonged my drag link on a new build.I do like the links them selves.
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Ай бұрын
Those are just Traxxas 5347s. Lots of folks use them. Sight unseen, I'd put drag link issue in the column of improperly set endpoints. The servo shouldn't be pulling on the rod end at stall.
@richpeacock5768
@richpeacock5768 Ай бұрын
@@CrawlerCanyon endpoints are set properly, I did get in a small bind. But not enough to cause damage to a link end. If something won't move I typically stop and move my truck by hand. I am running 2.2 Mickey Thompson Pros, so that could be added into the issue. I appreciate all that you do for the RC community😃 I am also running a raw 500, they typically stall out before causing damage. I run raw 500s on all my Crawlers. I really like my Vanquish builds I have a rock Pirates Phoenix build no link issues . I also have a vrd carbon no end link issues. The rig that I am basing this conversation on is an OCD custom RC chassis. They are a father and son team building Universal chassis . I may have just gotten a bad one, but there are a lot of other inferior Parts out there that look the same. I will be interested to see if you ever have any issues of premature wear on your build.

@@CrawlerCanyon I think at this point we should all just agree to disagree they may be 5347 but there isn't a single 5347 that comes on a Traxxas trx4. I could prove it if we could send pictures on KZfaq . I have put my Vanquish trucks and my Traxxas trucks through much more and much worse situations than the hardcore links went through with zero problems going on a year and a half on Phoenix Rock pirate build no link issues. Carbon vrd no issues was lucky enough to get one on the first run . And I must follow this up with I do appreciate everything you do in the RC community and I know and respect that you know a lot about crawling. But there's no shame in admitting if you're wrong. And if it could be proven to me that I was wrong I would accept that.
