I just did that on a roadster I bought back in September last year. they make a two part that threads into the front pulley. It seems to be a better design than that two large tooth model you have shown, which is the same one that broke, the new design is metal and not cast which is also the reason for the breakage. Not sure where the cast one is made, but is not any good. I even bought two more of the treaded two piece for other cars that I may repair in the future that has that cast part. You may have to jack up the front of the motor or move the motor mount out of the way. They say you can change it out on the road, but that is a pain. Good videos Joe.

I went to a aftermarket 1 piece. Hopefully it doesn't break! I've heard of the ones like you described but never tried one. Thanks for watching!

I got my first Ford in 1969, still driving old Fords and actually sometimes hope one burps because I still like working on them. Most unfortunately only have trouble with oil leaks despite extreme care putting them together, just a matter of miles before dripdrip.

Seems if they're not leaking, they're out of oil. This one is better than most ive had, so I'll take it!

Somewhere in the back of my memory banks I seem to remember reading or hearing that the two piece crank pulley was a weak link....?

My research shows that as well.

Have you not considered an early V8 water pump?
@Seattle_Speed_Shop
@Seattle_Speed_Shop 11 ай бұрын
Briefly. My A pump is sealed bearing. So I didn't want to replace it. And I had the pulley already. If I had an adapter and pump I would have probably tried that too for the water issue. The 3.5 inch pulley kinda solved 2 problems for me. So win win. Thanks for your comment

@@Seattle_Speed_Shop Ahh that makes sense ,I used a 1932 Banger in mine but a Thomas head so needed to buy a water pump anyway - .I just made a new pulley on my lathe to take a fan

Any idea what caused that part to break? Weird failure.
@Seattle_Speed_Shop

Not exactly. But I was being mean to it for the first time. So? Bad part maybe? I'm not 100% sure except I was driving it hard.

What caused it to break in the first place.

It's a common issue with the 2 piece pulley. I was driving a bit hard, so imagine it may have been to many horses. 😆
