@@crystalbelle2349 Best damn band from Alabama. DBT is the shit. And if you don't like 'em, you can kiss my ass.
@RaVenDaWn9993 жыл бұрын
It takes not so much eyes to see, yet vision to know. It takes not so much having heard, even made one's self a fan; it takes a second sight of many senses, that no limits apply. DBT has had my deeper attention always. From this fantastic verse and tones- issues are taken to task and as with Puttin' People On The Moon or The Sands Of Iwo Jima- this band has their own views. Obvious what they support and yet even then I see the same issues DBT have arisen, that we may be aware and look deeper for answers. This was 2020, a year of Vision by any other name, and the truth that shines, while it is often obvious even to the oblivious, "there are none so blind as those who will NOT see." It is a lifestyle choice. Politics should be as business is, no free passes; no more elite clubs that can dictate what they would allow the rest of us- & I will admit I have been part of that, not by will, yet by force of circumstance. Yet at the end of the day, what they all learned about me- I do not favor the entitled. I would never be in that club. It is like a fart in a jar. It's okay as these particular politcos, though maybe they did not inhale, when they speak of our world and of those who have actual accomplishments- they speak with forked tongues and tainted breath, swamp serpents, yes. DBT tells it both as a political reality and as personal as it gets. They invoke so much determination to balance these scales, we've no time to cry now, we must hit the trail. Be active and in high spirits. Be well... ~RaVen~

The US has a Commie 2.0 regime, too, so don't get feeling too special. Regarding DBT, they have some brilliant songs. "Used to Be a Cop" and "Women Without Whiskey" are a couple of favorites, but I really do have to hold my nose on their political stuff. These guys are idiots if they believe the wokesters will embrace them because of their politics. They are white, and they are from Alabama. That condemns them. They will never be trusted by the wokesters, because the Antifa crowd don't understand the real roots of DBT music. I'd like this band a lot more and I'd buy a lot more of their music if their politics was not so tired, conventional and predictable.

Real lyrics with a real message. Don't let anyone say REAL music doesn't still exist. Another thing I appreciate (especially about the Truckers in general) is the effort to try something different with their approach in sound with damn near every release. It's hard to think of many these days who can pull off Southern Rock, Hard Rock, Country, Soul, and Folk all to the same equivalent. DBT has done it and they do it well.

Their American Band album did it so incredibly well. America just needs good music now more than a message. But that is strictly my opinion.
@mpgarr6 жыл бұрын
It always gets me that people will say about musicians and their music when it gets "too political, they shouldn't do that!"--especially when those politics get "too liberal" for some. I don't listen to standard issue "country music" because it is mostly lame and those who make it, especially all the "hat boys" kind of represented by ones like Toby Keith, tend to be all "red, white and blue, True Americans, everything is just great in America and if you don't like it, get the hell out" in their attitude. They all make this sappy, all is right with America, sentimental pap with flying flags and such. I don't go and pitch a fit about the content, more the overall sort of fake feel to it--with it being music that has to hit certain "punch list" things and is pretty empty headed----fake music in a sense. I don't go and piss and moan--I just don't listen to it or buy it or go see it performed live, while I do all of those things with REAL music like that made by the Truckers, Son Volt and others. If you no longer care about the sort of music that the Truckers are making now, then don't buy it. As someone did note and I did earlier in another post----if you could not get it that Patterson and Cooley had a liberal bent---you sure as fuck haven't really paid all that close attention to their music pretty much from day one!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE TRUCKERS. I have seen them more than 10 times, and I have shared their music with all my friends. I love them. But it’s difficult to accept their WOKENESS. Trump kept Putin on his heels for 4 years. Trump also pushed for legislation to provide more money to Historically Black Colleges than any other President in US history, and he happily signed it (he’s the one who pushed for it). Under Trump, African-American Unemployment Plummeted to the lowest level ever recorded. And it’s fully being proved that the Russian Collusion story was CREATED by the Hillary Clinton Campaign: They provided False Information to the FBI to try and frame Trump, and that’s fully coming to light by Prosecutor Durham. All that said: I will ALWAYS love and support The Truckers, no matter what.

Trump literally said Putin was a genius for wanting to invade Ukraine HOURS before they invaded AND after. If anything, Trump gave his approval. Manafort admitted HIMSELF that he gave poling infromation to Russia, he litterally admitted it. BTW as soon as you mention "woke" everybody knows you are a fucking joke. Not a chance in hell. This song aged perfectly. Trump attempted a coup, committed espionage, divided Americans more we've been in recent history, promoted bigotry and hatred, and appointed people that took away basic medical rights. His big claim to fame is the economy and jobs, but in reality, Trump is the ONLY president in modern history to leave office with less jobs than when he entered. He failed on every possible level, and we ALL saw how his presidency ended. Trump is the worst president we've ever had, and history will remember that.

I mean they make it look like its all Trumps fault for the rioting in the streets...when in fact its the extreme left that can't take a loss. Hey I didn't vote for him either, I voted for Johnson, But you don't see Johnson supporters out burning buildings and looting stores because Johnson lost. PLEASE get back to songs about sex, drugs and Rock N Roll...I admit the MUSIC part of this song IS good but the lyrics ruin it...also I will still continue to listen to the past albums and hope for the days gone by...

You proudly state that you've "got all their albums except the last one." If you ever took the time to actually listen to the lyrics of all their "past albums" you'd know that this band has ALWAYS been making political statements with their music. They've always pointed out and criticized all social injustice and intolerance, and have tried to bring attention to the socio-economic imbalance affecting so many Americans throughout this great country. So please, try to really LISTEN to the past albums and instead of hoping for days gone by, hope for better days ahead.

I couldn't agree more. I'm no fan of Trump, and own all the DBT cds, including the solo albums , but the alliance with BLM turned me off. BLM has driven a wedge between the gay community and our police force, they hijacked our Pride parade and alienated our police force. I bought the last DBT cd, but it will probably be my last. I actually attended the last tour in my town and saw the concert security roughing up people for no reason, really bad vibes. Apparently the security was BLM. I'm 56 and am from a mixed racial family, but BLM is bad news. It broke my heart that DBT would align themselves with a group that most of the community they supposedly represent doesn't agree with.

Ridiculous, they are better than ever musically. You clearly never listened to the band's lyrics, so why is is a problem now? This song might be a bit over the top, but that's what happens when you get pissed at deplorable events in our country, and how idiots voted a complete clown as President, a guy that lauds racists openly, such as after the Charlottesville tragedy. Open your eyes and go listen to Southern Rock Opera again, and read the lyrics. Read the lyrics from Brighter Than Creation's Dark, or the Dirty South. They've always been socially conscious, and what's wrong with that? They still rock hard and give 100% to the music, which is what it is ultimately all about, and is sorely lacking with many artists today...
