5:47 that attack is a ground finisher when Anti is surrounded by enemies at least from all my experience fighting Sephy with only Anti leads me to this conclusion

I love how feral Anti Form Sora looks, he moves, attacks and acts like a Heartless.

I think the coolest thing about Anti Form and Rage Form is that it shows how Sora has learned to control the darkness within him. Anti Form is rabid and twitchy, and while Rage Form shows some of that, it's more calm and controlled. Sora also has access to a Keyblade in Rage Form as well, and while Anti triggers randomly, Rage triggers only when Sora is at low health. It's a cool way to show character development!

Organization: Embrace the Darkness! Sora: aight Organization: some mistakes were made

One thing that always bothered me about KH is that no character in universe talks to sora about this. No ones says “ hey sora why do you randomly give into darkness?”

While I liked the idea of KH3's Rage Form wielding a keyblade and thus having more control, nothing has yet to top Anti Form for me. There's something raw, primal, and savage about Sora abandoning the keyblade altogether and going all in with just scratches, punches, and kicks in erratic patterns and ludicrous speeds. Nomura really nailed the feeling of just letting your instincts go and unleashing the pain, it's really satisfying. If only it weren't so weak defensively and acted more as a punishment, lol. I really wanted to see Anti Form as it was in KH2 with bodily strikes, but better and more easily accessed. But I can gladly take Rage Form's subtle character development touches, too.

Since the Oathkeeper Keyblade will be returning in the ReMIND DLC, I hope they'll bring back the Oblivion Keyblade with a Formchange that is a fusion of Rage Form and Anti Form.

This was the AWESOMEST form when I was a kid. I was always so hyped when I got it.

For a "punishment", it sure does pack a punch. I purposefully tried to use it as much as possible.

For strategy, antiform can be very effective against silhouette Mar if you are under leveled. Silhouette Mar technically doesn't deal damage, only drops the counter, and anti form can stagger mar for long periods for about a full bar of health if I remember correctly.

Ya gotta love how story and gameplay are integrated with Anti-Form. First, the way Anti-Form triggers: As Sora uses his drives, he is pretty much pulling more strenght from his heart, but as he abuses this new form of power, he is in danger to pull the darkness that is inside him. For Combat: He pretty much goes feral instinct, flaying wildly with his hands and darkness tendrills, and while idle, he is like a wild beast, impatiently looking around for anything to attack while still keeping moving to not lose that murderous intent as he isn't thinking like a normal human anymore, just as a Heartless. While Nomura said Anti-Form is some sort of punishment for abusing the new Drive mechanic, it also tells a integral part of the lore of Kingdom Hearts.

I *really* appreciate that you go through the animations of each 'n' every drive form in a frame by frame manner, (especially this form, as Anti-form is my favourite one to look at, even though it's meant to be a punishment.) There are just, SOOOO many little details that one would just want to stare at, but can't because the base game is too fast XD Thank you!

For people who don't know it all drive forms can be seen in the mirrors there the fairies are as descriptions the one that describes the anti form says that the darkness over takes sora just so you know.

You know I don't really care that this form isn't optimally good, the amount of detail put into Anti-Form's Animations, and accounting for the difference in each world with a new costume is so cool! For a mechanic ment to punish the player for drive spamming, they put alot of work into its personality, attacks, and even idle animations/hanging. It's really inventive to look at.

I’ve always found Anti-form absolutely fascinating since coming into the series (I just recently finished all the games). I’m always a sucker for happy-go-lucky characters hitting their breaking point and gong absolutely feral. But I can’t help but wonder, and I don’t know if it’s canon or not/widely accepted fanon, but I always thought of Anti-form being a visual rep of the fact that tho he appears human, he’s still technically a heartless. Roxas, having grown his own heart while with the Organization, isn’t cooperating with Sora’s heart. Tho within the same body, they don’t quite mix, leaving Roxas still a Nobody and Sora still a heartless. I think all Kairi did was create a temporary vessel via Sora’s emotional connections with those around him, allowing Sora to appear normal and retain his human appearance. But using Drive Forms strains the vessel in keeping Sora’s human appearance But that’s just my thoughts coming into this series just a few weeks ago :P

I really like the fact that he (unknowingly) forgoes using his keyblade in this form, and just busts out feral hand-to-hand combat instead. There’s something so satisfying every time he does, like in 3 where he throws them hands on Davy? So damn good. And I really appreciate that we finally have an attack where you don’t use the keyblade (Counter Kick).

Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed in an interview with Famitsu that Sora's ability to enter this form is due to his transformation into a Shadow. He has also said that "Rage Form does indeed have characteristics that are reminiscent of Anti Form, but it's basically a separate thing setup wise. Anti is based on Sora getting completely stained in darkness, but Rage doesn't go quite that far. It's based on him going into a rampage state, controlled by feelings of anger."

I loved this form and how it seems with each passing game sora is gaining more darkness and control over it, in kh2 he has no keyblade during anti but in rage form of kh3 he does, not only that but it has been stated sora and xehanort are the only two people who have been able to maintain themselves as heartless and not lose control, so I have no doubt sora will continue becoming more adept at it. I have never seen anti-form hanging on a ledge for that long before (that's partly because I don't own the game or any of it's remakes myself).

Anti form also disables the gaining of EXP.

The two big *advantages* of Anti-Form are it's sheer speed, both in movement and attacking, as well as the fact your attacks can't be deflected by anything while in it.

I loved anti form so much. I tried to trigger it whenever I could. When I was first playing this in high school forever ago I didn't know there was an entire system to manipulate it.

....This explains *SO MUCH* Honestly I kept wondering why this form would appear during Organization battles. I knew about the counter but not that it increased with boss battles Also I never paid attention to the combos. I was too busy freaking out and trying to stay alive to even notice really what I was doing while fighting. Thanks for this.

"In Tron's world, his circuits no longer glow." So.. what I'm getting is, Sora gave himself a "heart attack" (pun intended) and is half dead, kinda like a virus, a type of program that harms computers. That's either super cool that they intended for that to be the case, or I'm up having my 5am rant about how cool my brain works sometimes when it's not being full brainlet with my friends.

Great video once again! I've always loved anti form, even though it was always an inconvenience (did I spell that right? Lol) I love all the little details you pay attention to, keep doing what you're doing!

You also get a few frames of invincibility while using Anti Form's growth ability, but the timing is extremely precise EDIT: Oh and another thing that idk if you mentioned somewhere, but on bosses where Sora is completely by himself (Roxas, Sephiroth, Luxord and regular Xemnas) Anti Form cannot be activated, and there's also a few regular bosses where guest party members (Hydra, Hades, Timeless river pete) can keep you from triggering it

More info for 5:30 When in the middle of a ground combo (before the finisher) you press ■. You can spam this about 2-3 times until sora can't anymore and would end his combo without a finisher (i suggest pressing the X at the end for a finisher) . Sora will float very close to the ground and be surrounded in a sphere and streams of darkness attacking enemies in a... gracefull pose? (He is almost T- Posing lol) As he is sliding on the ground. One target: Sora will attack all of the targets sides Crowd: Sora will try to attack as many targets as possible but can't focus on 1 target

Anti Form: Sora's ferality unleashed when his darkness takes over his Drives, unusually powering his speed but at the cost of legit everything else. You must be just spamming X the whole time since Anti Form has a ton of parry frames to make up for the double damage received. Extremely fast and can be powerful. Only Drive that does not level up, making it pretty strong at first but weak later on(especially when you have Limit, Master and Final leveled up.). My favorite looking and strat-wise one. I love how he just hangs by ledges with his right foot and looking "Whaddup bro? U mad?" and that Normura said "this will be how close Sora can turn to being a Heartless." And due to it's *#dejavu* speed, this Drive can auto-kill any enemy once staggered.

Ive really enjoyed these form breakdowns. Will we be seeing the command styles from bbs or rikus dream eater forms from 3D?

Sora's darkness manifesting in a usable form it's odd that he doesn't make any noise whatsoever.

Yo as much as I liked anti-form and showed Sora how much he was willing to go to save his friends, I felt like it was punishing but I could adapt to these combos, but I always felt like anti-form was just there for the sake of being dramatic in cause of boss battles, (I beat that pretty rose pettled rose hair guy with anti-form, he deserved it after chain of memories.)

So do you think the mechanics of rage form reflect that sora had accepted he has a bit of darkness in him? The player has the choice to use it now,as opposed to it being a random occurrence, and you can jump out of it quickly with the finish (at the cost of hp).

If Anti Form is Sora being unhinged I think Rage Form is him having some control over his darkness. Too bad they never explore Sora's darkness. Anti Form should've been introduced as a mechanic when Goofy was knocked out during the Battle of Hollow Bastion. Sora should've tackled the ravine trail by himself with Anti Form and seeing Goofy being okay reverts him back to normal.

Here's something interesting: If you have the Japanese PS2 release of Final Mix, you can put in a mod to actually obtain Anti-form. To obtain it, you need to complete the Mushroom XIII challenges to obtain it though. I am sure the restrictions still apply when in Anti-form, but I would have to double check.

Anti's attacks have a ton of parry frames though, which makes attacking a lot safer than you'd think

i didn't know final form would never trigger anti form so when i went angaist saïx and used final form and see that it worked i was surprised

antiform sora's finisher moves mostly have block frames, so if you get shot at and manage to get a finisher off (the long, wild scratching in the air for example) you can actually reflect the projectile back to the opponent. so you want to use finishers as often as possible to maximise block frames. unequipt all "combo plus" abilities and stack on the "finishing plus" abilities as much as possible. even if the keyblades dissappear in anti form, you still get the ability of the keyblade you have equipt and even the ability of the drive form you chose. let's say you chose valor form, turn into antiform, you get the ability of valor form's keyblade. using negative combo, i was able to completely skip normal attacks and immediately use a finisher making me very powerfull and almost invincible. it sucks against enemies immune to magic (sephiroth). 9/10 would use the power of darkness again.

Is there a way you can disable antiform?

Its really not a strategy, it's basically try to survive as much as you can until U can revert. Also in the 2nd visit on land of dragons when we first meet the sniper nobodies oh, I turned into antiform and those sniper nobody's killed me less than 10 Seconds

Is it possible that anti-form sora is triggered by the darkness within Sora’s heart growing as he constantly uses his drive forms as in like a grasp for more power somehow like Terra from birth by sleep?

idk if this is a popular opinion, but i think anti form is SO cool, both from a gameplay perspective (if you rely on drive forms too much, you get punished by getting locked into a powerful but painful form) AND a lore perspective! it may unironically be my favorite drive form!

Honestly based on whim I feel like this form showing up at all seems to be like maybe a result of his unnatural return from being a heartless in kh1 because he was at that point still kinda a heartless because he was literally still a separate entity from Roxas and still able to function like a "somebody" But it's cool to think there might be side effects of his unnatural return

Can we all agree that winning with this Form was so damn satisfying back in the day? And what's more, being able to use this Form to beat a boss was like the ultimate achievement. Also, I kind of noticed something weird after seeing Anti-Form Sora fight in slow motion. He almost looks like a puppet being manipulated by someone or something else. The dark lines emitting from his body could be seen as strings.

Strangely enough, Anti-Form has always been my best form to the point where I mained Two Become One as soon as I got it. I was always really good at dodging around so it made killing everything incredibly easy as long as I played a little patient

I remeber the first time I got this form back on the PS2. Was completely by accident, I think I was in Timeless River I remember being very freaked out (I was a kid), thinking "What in the HELL is going on ??" I died, of course, and never managed to get the Form again. I told my friends who were also KH fans, and they never believed me.

When me and my brother saw this form. We were like “Aw yeah! This is happening!”

Also you don't gain any EXP from killing non-boss heartless or nobodies.

If Sora's forms were organized onto a DND alignment chart I can pretty easily tell you Anti-Form would be chaotic evil Edit: And now that i'm thinking about it Valor would probably be chaotic good, (but might also not because the name of the form says otherwise) And Final would probably be lawful good, and then the last three (Limit, Wisdom, Master) would probably be their own mix of the good alignments, i suppose
