I said this about 6 months into the Pandemic. It's too bad they were so quick to close down Drive-in Theaters. Movie Theaters couldn't be used due to 30 people all the way to 200+ people all in close proximity of each other. Where as a Drive-in theater your in YOUR CAR, with a cooler, food, snacks, and everything you need right there. It was a perfect way to see a movie during this insane time. Add to that, Drive-in movies were so much fun back in the day. I remember the family loading up the station wagon, heading out to the 41-Twin theater. Then as I grew older, in high school going with friends. Guys sneaking in the trunk, just goofy hijinks. 🤪 It was a memorable time and experience. I know living in the past is "taboo", and while I understand that if your always looking back, you can't see what's in front of or what's ahead of you, it's still fun to enjoy your past, relish memories, and relive past memories.

Hopefully this is one of the positive, long-term effects of the pandemic.

I guess it’s easy to take the drive in for granted when your community and local areas enjoy it every summer. The drive in is something every kid should experience. We have a wonderful drive in close to home and it’s a summer tradition for most. Double features and lots of great movies.

That’s my favorite Drive In theater. I only live 15 minutes from it.

My mom was a a little girl in the 70's and she remembers going every weekend! 😊

I remember my parents taking my brother and I when we were small and it used to be so packed and there was even a playground for the little kids. When I took my boyfriend in January it was so empty and made me so sad to see. I’m happy it’s coming back(:

Drive in movies always make me smile, They show me a simpler time I wasn't around to see.

I was watching an LL Cool J video and it showed a drive-in theater. It brought back a memory, vaguely. I vaguely remember going to one when I was little. I believe it was at the _Cow Palace._

To this day, I still remember going to the drive in 10 minutes away from home in so cal where we'd attach wires to the antena, crank on the radio, and watch a double feature. The first time I was ever able to stay up all the way through was going and watching Balto and Hunchback of Notre Dame, and I loved it even to this day.

I’ve been thinking about this the first few days in when the National Emergency was first declared back in March. Now... it’s a reality! Drive-ins around the country MUST reopen. We can’t go inside a movie theater for quite a while, so THIS is a good alternative and social distancing can be put to good use here rather than sharing a row of seats with others you don’t know.

I live across the street from there and I always sneak in with my radio. Just sneak in bring sum food and relax

I live in Door County Wisconsin... Home to one of only 3 drive in movie theaters in the USA still operating since the 50s. They even still play those old cartoon commercials that urge you to go to the snack bar. I've been going every summer since I was a kid and I love it. 2 movies for the price of one and the cheapest movie theater snacks you will ever find. It's so much fun to take my kids there now.... They always have a blast.

Back when Drive In Theaters were opened, you had to be pretty close to the screen in order for you to easily hear it but now with Bluetooth, you can hear the movie much better

The cars they interviewed just happened to be those annoying one who put up their hatchback against house rules and blocking the view of people behind them.

Omg! Brings back memories. I watched, Jaws at a drive in Santa Rosa, California. There is one scene that scared me and I dropped my drink. That was fun going to the drive in theater. The people were cool then no fights and you can watch the movie peacefully. They had speakers that you can hook up to your window to hear the movie. I remember they were a lot of them in California. I was sad when they did away with them.

I've never stopped going to the drive ins. It's always been way better than a theater. I live in San Diego so the weather is perfect for it.
