The daytime family eating in the car was shot at my home theater, the Ridge Road Drive-In, Griffith, Indiana. What a great place to grow up. Intermission bingo with an actual mountain of prizes in the huge concession stand, quickdraw contests, holiday specials, packed playground, heaters in the car, and a fantastic enthusiastic host/manager on the speaker. I’ve had 50 years in the film & video production business because I grew up at the Ridge Road Drive-In. What great memories.

There was nothing like going to the drive-in with your whole family back in the 1960s and 70s . I remember my folks taking us to see Yours , Mine and Ours with Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda in 1968. I also saw Star Wars at a Drive-In

I remember Rain Drizzle Guards. They didn't work too well. Wind would blow them away or the rain under them. Coming from Seattle, rain wasn't exactly unheard of.

Ah - sweet era .... well, I guess not so sweet when the social injustices of the day are considered, but there's such an appealing naivety to this old animation/music. Thanks for this charming little tour through public domain!

Oh too cool. Thanks for this Xoroaster! I'm going to send this on to a few people. Yeah, I rember many of these and probably saw them all. I also remember going on my own to my local theater and getting in to the traditional "double feature" for .50 cents! So I know my parents paid even less than that for me earlier in life. When the Beatles first movie "A Hard Days Night" came, I watched it day after day at .50 cents a pop!

We have 2 driveins within 10 miles. Hope they stay in business. The closest one we can hear the credits on the radio all the way home. But we always bring our own snacks.

Hey, no sweat AA. ;-D That's pretty cool. I don't think I've seen that. I think the first drive in movie I saw was Wrath of Khan. But the last one I saw was one of the Harry Potter movies I think. We still have one operating drive in theater here. It's a double feature theater, and i think it shows some of these type of deals.

Disembodied boy's head in hot dog commercial, they seemed to like disembodied heads in ads back then, the magazines are full of them. Interesting those car heaters, obviously those are for places with a milder winter climate then let's say Alberta or Minnesota.
