Team Go that challenges the 24 Hours of Le Mans in Lark McLaren appointed DK Tsuchiya as a driver. As the announcement was the day before the joint test at Paul Ricard, France, DK Tsuchiya jumped into the plane and joined the test.

当時ホットバージョンを見てましたが この号が発売された後に、ル・マンの予選が始まりました 結果は3’47‘’108でGT1勢で5位、マクラーレン勢で2位を獲得 その様子はテレビで公開されました 動画9分以降の土屋氏の語り、有言実行どころじゃないですよね 本当に熱かったですね、最高に良かった

That car weighs 100lbs more than an S2 Lotus Exige and it has 400 more HP!!!! My head would explode driving that car!

@@ericpelky1246 it's because 24 hour racing needs a balance between power and reliability, and this was 24H Le Mans in the 90s. The Mclaren F1 GTR won Le Mans overall with that HP, beating even the prototype-class cars.

小さい頃、親に連れられて行った鈴鹿でもテストしてた記憶があります。 走行を終えたのかこれからだったのか分かりませんが、ピットに収まるマクラーレンを横目に、親とサーキットカートを楽しんでいました。

This car was running 2nd overall at the 1997 Le Mans 24 hour race at on point sadly it crashed out it had the potential to be the best placed McLaren F1 GTR at that race therefore this cars only success was the Silver-stone round of the 1997 British GT Championship where it won albeit in the colors of Parabolica Motorsport.

For English speakers: here's a bit of that interview at @2:30 Interviewer: What kind of feeling do you have when you drive a new car for the first time? Tsuchiya: It's the same as a relationship with a person...you say "what's your personality?"...it's the same as people, cars I mean. If I say it elegantly, it's like "what kind of conversation can we have?...how many walls are there between us?"...it's that kind of a dialogue.

@@SkylineGTRB26 it is not a best motoring or hot version oversea test, it is the le mans race cars test day because DK has signed for the team Lark F1 GTR racing team for the 1997 Le Mans 24 Hours race, but still hope tgat he can go around the world and drive more amazing cars and tracks for us.

腰は人体の要ですからね😣 普通の生活も辛く成りますし、酷いと立てないレベルに成って、仕事や遊びにも行けなく成るくらいですしね。 レーサーで無くても、腰は大事にしたい処です……。

ルマンも凄いんだけど本当は97年のJGTCでF1を走らせてる土屋さんを見てみたかった感はある。現役時代中々マシンの運に恵まれなかったイメージがあるから勝てるマシンで走って欲しかったな、、、

96年JGTCに参戦した時は、過酷なイジメにあって(ブレーキローターの材質変更から、最終的にはエンジンのデチューンまで)それでも国産車勢は勝てず、そのショックから今でもGT500に外国車を入れないよう手を替え品を替え締め出しをしている 来期からGT500はDTMとほぼ同じ車両になるが、もしアウディやBMWが参戦しようとしたら果たしてどうなることやら・・・

thats just amazing. the chasis design is tune for the desire track. you can design it with braking aid and high corner or you can design it for low speed corner and no braking assist.

That shifter is so freaking weird. Pushing up is Upshift and pulling down is Downshift. I wonder why it wasn't the other way around.

He was saying what a hard time he was having reprogramming his brain, having been driving a normal sequential box in the NSX for so long. That's why Tsuchiya was short shifting the first sets of laps - he was afraid of accidentally downshifting close to redline which would blow the engine. I give him a lot of credit for learning a habitual action backwards and being expected to set a competitive lap time in the span of probably a weekend.

Did he compare the F1 to a really powerful NSX? If so he'd be right, apart from the centered driving position, and that howling BMW engine. So much respect for him as a driver!

@@0222tomi Teorically it's possible that Mclaren F1 were inspired by Honda NSX,because before Mclaren was started with first street-legal supercar,the F1 Team was using Honda engines,and nearest thing to a Mclaren-Honda in streets in this era was Honda NSX,developed by Ayrton Senna (Mclaren F1 Driver) Aclaration:Last Mclaren-Honda was MP4/7A in 1992,the same year that Mclaren F1 public launch

@@sos15_yt There is a book written by the McLaren F1 designer, Gordon Murray, he says that it was absolutely inspired by the nsx. It is meant to be the feel and drivability of an NSX with technology and materials taken absolutely as far as they can go, no compromises. He also intended it to have a Honda v10, but BMW beat Honda to the punch.

Shifting on this F1 is a challenge because Gordon Murray insisted on the sequential gearbox being opposite. Forward gears push forward and downshifting by pulling back. The normal sequential is pull back to upshift and push forward to downshift

McLaren F1GTR has a BMW engine and we all love and praise it... the new supra has a BMW engine and the internet bashes it. Weird

McLaren F1 had a BMW big block V12 engine that was developed from a real Formula 1 engine that eventually won LeMans in 95 and 99. The new Supra has a BMW Z4 small block engine.

Wow,very weird,not Lark livery in F1 GTR.But remember,it's 1997 and in Paul Ricard (Le Castellet, France).Evin Law was implemented in France 1993 (no alcohol and tobacco),but ironically the pseudo-barcode LARK font logotype was allowed for 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1997 (Le Mans is also in France too 😱)

Back in the days where these were just race cars; driven hard, raced, used. Now they are just collectors cars; sitting in a garage too expensive, even for the super rich to drive. They'll never be driven properly again....
