A relaxing afternoon drive of the Outer Banks, North Carolina, the 50 mile stretch between Nags Head to Hatteras Island. I was hoping for an eastward facing view of the lighthouse with the setting sun to our backs, but we could only approach from the east. The silhouetted view of the lighthouse will have to do!
4K video drive for relaxation, stress relief, meditation, study and sleep. As with all my videos, this is not looped or layered, this is a real-time recording, filmed by me, using the best mobile microphones, cameras and audio recorders available for extremely realistic results.
"The Outer Banks of North Carolina offers a welcome relief from crowded cities and overrun vacation spots. In fact, you won’t find any cities on the Outer Banks, just 100+ miles of wide-open shoreline, charming seaside villages and a mix of towns brimming with personality and fascinating connections to our nation’s history. Although we’re just a drive away, these barrier islands feel remote. You could say we were socially distancing before there was such a thing. Choose an oceanside vacation rental home, and you can literally go from your home to ours without interacting face-to-face with another person. Just pop in the keycode for your rental and start vacationing on your own stretch of beach. Or, go for a different home experience at one of the romantic B&Bs of Roanoke Island and enjoy the walkable waterfront downtown of Manteo. This is where our country started (only makes sense to start a vacation here, too). You’ll find a variety of Outer Banks hotels, motels, cottage courts, campgrounds suitable for whatever experience you choose. See for yourself why Forbes and Dr. Beach ranked the Outer Banks as a top spot to get away to!"

"Nags Head, from its earliest beginnings in the 1800's, has predominately consisted of single family cottages and a few small hotels and cottage courts. Visitors to Nags Head can still enjoy the town's several historic cottages, which are primarily located across from the town's most significant landmark, Jockey's Ridge State Park. The tallest natural sand dune system in the eastern United States, the park offers unparalleled views of Nags Head from its heights."

"If you want to take "getting away from it all" to the next level, then Hatteras Island is a perfect choice. Hatteras Island stretches nearly half the distance of the entire Outer Banks. At the heart of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, first time visitors and veterans alike are amazed at just how much undeveloped beach wilderness exists between the island's seven village communities. Imagine endless stretches of natural beaches, sand dunes and sea oats, with the Atlantic Ocean gently roaring to the east, and the vast shallow bay of the Pamlico Sound to your west."

Putting text on the screen with the town names or calling them out verbally would be helpful for those who have never been to the OBX. Most of the signs go by too fast.

@@oliviasmom01 yeah, it's an idea I've been considering and will likely implement soon but my full-time job is winning out over edit time for these videos lately, unfortunately. Something you can try in the meantime that may help is to pause the video at signs in the highest resolution settings which will allow you to read the signs.

I’ve been to the OBX several times and I was able to follow along. I was saying for those watching who are maybe getting a feel for it before a vacation. It was actually a great video and I enjoyed the ride along.

The best place to make some days for relaxing. I`ve been there in 1995. The Accomodation is perfect. The Silence, the Wind and the wonderful evenings alone on the Veranda can repair many social depressions made by stress, population, traffic, family or work. I did that way by Alamo Car from Washington-Dulles Airport with an feminin couple at my side. We travelled 8,000 miles at the East Coast in about 3 weeks. The english seaside in North Germany is like Hatteras (Isle of Sylt) or Denmark.

Thank you for this video. Our family have traveled up and down Hatteras Island (lately to Rodanthe) every summer the last 12 years except during the pandemic. We have never been able to get such a clear view of our drive like this one. Nice camera!

Hello there!! I really enjoyed watching your video. The ride was very relaxing for sure, and I live about 2 hours away from the outer banks. Me and my family have been visiting OBX for years, and I never get tired of visiting here!! Do you have a video riding the ferry across to Ocracoke Island? I’d so , I’d love ❤️ to see it. Take care and I never get tired of watching these videos.

Dude across from the lighthouse at Coquina Beach is a parking lot with a gate in the back corner. Park and walk about 1/2 a mile and there are some backwater island tributaries and at certain times of year there are fish back there that will blow your mind. Careful of the log in the middle as it's a rig stealer. Best set up dual outrigger bottom rig and bloodworms. Never fails.

About 80 miles on South 12 will take you to the ferry in Buxton, from tjere to Ocracoke Island. If you go there you must visit the grave yard there. Some are dated from the 1500's i think. Anyway an excellent trip. P.S. if you get dinner there get fresh seafood cuz i got a bad salad there once. Also don't miss the best fishing in the Atlantic. Peace girl.✌

Very nice and smooth quality. What did you use to film in the drive? It must be mounted so securely to be able to do this.

This was filmed with an Osmo Action mounted into a Smallrig cage on a custom mount I made for the top of my Jeep Wrangler. Audio is recorded from inside the cabin, using 32 bit float to control clipping.

I hope that in the future there are higher resolution 360 cameras. I have a couple of 360 videos published on my channel, but they are only 5.6K for the entire sphere, which makes things lower quality looking.

These videos are incredible. I do something similar but I GoPro magnetically mounted on the center hood of my car. You mentioned that you mounted your Osmo camera to the top of your Jeep. How do you have it so the front of the Jeep doesn’t show on the video? Crop in post? Also…..the audio is immersive. How do you place your microphones inside the cabin? Love the channel.
@RelaxingWalks
@RelaxingWalks Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. These driving videos are a struggle. Making sure the hood isn’t in the video involved shooting at the right focal length (no cropping) and using a custom rig that put the camera 2 ft above the top of the Jeep. The mics are worn on my head to produce binaural audio from the perspective of the driver.
