Very good tour Brandon. Places I've never been through. I have been down Ocean Parkway and really does have what I call a "nestled-in" feel to it. Like the people there would never leave. I used to really want to live in Brooklyn or Manhattan, but then I realized I'm too low-key for that pace every day. You really have to born into that environment. I too saw vids about stuff flying off cars and trucks. It can happen so easily. On one vid a brick flies off a truck into the couple's windshield. The man's wife did not survive. In one instant, like Final Destination, it's all over.

Thanks for taking us out for another drive around NYC! I'm learning a lot about the city by watching your videos. I have a friend who grew up in the Bronx (Westchester Square). Thank you so much for including the African American history of Bath Beach/Bensonhurst. The African American community was there since the 1600's when the Dutch settled the area, known back then as Breuckelen. The descendants of thos community lived there through the 1980's when most moved away. The small church, Mt Zion Baptist is still there on Bath Avenue though. There was a similar community in Sheephead Bay centered around the First Baptist Church on East 15th Street.

For me the most weird and somewhat exciting areas. 1) the newton creek industrial area. Tiny canal and some type of draw bridge where grand ave flushing avenue. The area where you gor western beef grocery store, manhattan beer distribition warehouse, and junkyards.i would also include kingsland avenue morgan meeker industrial area and out of use rail tracks leading into buildings. Funny.almost as if bugs bunny put those rail tracks for wile e coyote. 2)broadway juncton. Where jackie robinson ends and where bushwick avenue ,eastern parkway starts. You got these elevated train track lines coming from jamaica side along fulton street, and you got rockaway side trains from the south, train line going up broadway bushwick. So broadway junction has this messy train interchange network. Very gritty, not gentrified yet, and still you can move around find one or 2 empty lot. A boarded up building. Its the only part of brooklyn that still resembles brooklyn of the 1980s. 3) linden blvd, fountain avenue, you got this va hospital. Looks like haunted hospital or crazy asylum. Anyone played batman arkham asylum? That area, the streets are boulavard wide. Along seaview avenue former landfill site closed in 1980. 3)coney island, has a mix of the old and new. Lots of tax payer funded old folks homes where old jews of former soviet union live. Bus truck yards. Repair shops. Housing projects, amd coney island. Or quasi motto island. I like it.

At 3:46, you're passing Benson Ave., and if you had looked to the right, we would have seen the building my ex-wife lived when we started dating. Glad you didn't look right :-). As for the double parking, it's always been that way. Double park no regard for oncoming traffic, and people just walking out in the middle of the block as if they're daring you to hit them. I've been tempted to do so many times. As for this video, everything still looks more or less as I remember it.

I still love looking at houses in Whitestone, my old neighborhood in Queens. But, I'll never move back, as it's just too expensive now with extremely high real estate prices and taxes. Plus the politics in NY, infuriates me. Impeach DeBlasio, and things might improve somewhat. But watching you drive through Brooklyn, is almost like watching you drive on another planet. Living in Arizona now, is TOTALLY different than any borough in NY. Wide open spaces with coyotes and scorpions! 😂 Thanks for the tour!
