3 жыл бұрынIntroducing my new series "My Favorite Places" where I will drive through and explore some of my favorite cities pointing out my favorite places along the way! Stay until the end for close ups of my fav destinations in each city.
St Albans is a quaint town in Vermont that has brought me joy since I was young. I've always loved hanging out in the downtown area, grabbing a coffee or a treat, and doing some light (and sometimes heavy) shopping.

I loved for about 2 and half years in St Albans. I was stationed at the old Radar Base. This brought back some old memories.

I would have done so sooner, but I was not allowed in VT for recreational travel as a New Yorker due to the p*ndemic!

Nice video, The bowling alley next to where jc penny use to be, has been gone for years. Use to go bowling there back in the 80's,90s. Use to Like going to wool Worth department store, Ben Franklins, and radio shack before they closed. I'm sure anyone that went to the radio shack use to remember the old guy that worked there forever, he was so friendly and always willing to help. Miss those day. thanks for the video down memory lane.

There is a sales tax in VT. Some people drive to NH to buy appliances abd such, just to avoide the sales tax.

It looks like a calm and tidy rural town. I was born in St Albans UK, and now live near St Albans, Victoria, Australia; both densely populated.

Yeah St Albans, VT is a smaller town fairly close to the border of NY. Definitely sounds less populated than the cities you know with the same name but it's a lovely place with nice shops and people!

Great video, but Vermont does have a sales tax. New Hampshire doesn't, but VT has a 6% sales tax with the exception of food products.

Yes for sure-I meant to say VT has lower taxes than NY for things tourists are interested in e.g. shopping as many northern new yorkers (life myself) visit vermont to shop for that reason! Thanks for watching & clarifying for other viewers 💓

Thanks for the video but you need to do a little more research about the cities you visit there are 7000 voters just in the city proper the other side of main st has some of the most beautiful victorian homes i lived in one for over a decade

Thanks for sharing! These are just my favorite places in St Albans, which make me come back again and again, not necessarily all the town has to offer. Always exploring though so I'll check that out some time. 😊

I should clarify--there's no sales tax on groceries, gas, and clothing which is why many tourists from neighboring states like NY come to VT to shop!
