You shouldn’t cut this young lady hair dry, surely she has shrinkage, either cut it straightened/dry or wet to stretch the strands out. You should know better.

Yes she is good with color, I have a problem with her chopping her hair dry, because of shrinkage, it’s best to cut wet to stretch the strands for an even cut or straighten then cut. She could have waited after processing her hair to trim. I would have been highly offended. Definitely would use her for chemicals services.

Cutting it dry in its natural state ensures you’re not removing more length than desired. Cutting in the way you just described will be unpredictable length wise, and could lead to more shrinkage as well. Also, I will not straighten my clients hair to cut it. That’s kind of pointless. Straightening causes damage and she never wears her hair straight, so that wouldn’t help us in this case. This is called a Curly Cut, I do curly cuts Dry (as do many). One of the reasons most of my clients love seeing me is because I cut their curls dry and they don’t have issues with their hair anymore like they have had in the past with other stylists cutting their hair like it’s straight when it’s not:)

I haven’t got to the end yet, but I’m sure it will look amazing. 😊Just something to add, I was watching another hair content maker on KZfaq, who makes her own products for her hair company, and she made a good point. It’s that if a brand is inclusive to everybody with a specific haircare line or product then not every hair type is getting the full benefits of them as different hair types have different needs. For example, straight hair needs less heavier products and oils because it becomes greasier sooner and weighs the hair down whilst curly hair is more dryer and can become more brittle and therefore needs heavier based products and moisture/protein usually. But generally speaking, I’d say, as a hairstylist myself, that moisture and protein-based products is definitely a good baseline for everybody, as long as it’s in moderation as some people can be protein sensitive. And as you probably know too, much moisture is also bad. But I do agree with the factf just because something is labelled for a specific hair type, It doesn’t necessarily mean that your hair won’t like it, but it just helps as a general guideline especially when starting a haircare regiment. As a hairdresser my cell, I’m very curious as to why you didn’t start coloring in the back first, so that could make rinsing off foils a lot easier than starting in the front

I find the foils in the front and in the crown lighten the slowest (excluding near the ear) and I prefer the front to be the brightest. The back lightens quickly as lots of heat gets incubated back there so I don’t have to wait for it to catch up as I would if I started in the back and did the front last:) Saves time and is more efficient!🩷

I would drive 5 hours too. I had a horrible experience at a Beverly Hills salon my sister “treated” me to. Nothing but orange ugly! I had to dye my hair brown an hour later cause we were going to a play.

So cool u r a Professional I wish I lived near u also I have a question if your Grey is coming in and u have used Box color do u recommend dark grey highlights or lowlights or neither the box dye colors get old I’m not ready to go completely grey yet I do plan to go to a professional to have this done Thank You for your consideration.

Hey! If you’re considering. going to grey then highlights would be a great way to start, getting the box dye out of your hair could be on the pricier side though. Because box dye stains your hair and in order to get to silver we need to get really blonde first, it may take multiple sessions to get to silver like you want🩷

her hair looks great.. i don’t think there’s anything wrong with something specifying it’s for curly hair though, in my opinion… there are a lot of hair products on shelves that’s not been inclusive up until the last few years & the curly haired girls thought enough is enough. it’s good to know if they can use it on their curly hair, it’s almost representing too which is a good thing. especially for young girls learning to love and accept their curls.
