Driving a classic 911 is pure therapy for some...and I've found the earlier cars are just so rewarding. Watch this video to see why.

Just took my 81 911SC on 7000 mile " One Lap of America" road trip this April/May. Never turned radio on once, flat six sound track out back provided all the music. These cars are long distance machines, willing to get into deep conversation if you listen and feel the story they wish to tell. I thought of all the people that made my car some 41 years ago, I hoped that I was doing them justice in my upkeep and joy in their work.

Car sounds great. And from the video it appears to be quite speedy as well. I drive my water cooled cabriolet around the back roads west of Winston and I’m always a little concerned about what I will find around a curve whether it’s a crowd of cyclists or a tractor! Really enjoy your content!

Nice car. I’m a 911 fan and a bicyclist. Plenty of room for all of us. Cyclists should have dropped the peloton and lined up more when they heard you coming. Share the road.

@@Rennthusiast Thanks! you have a fairly steady head! :) I used a hero 7 and a few other cameras in my latest 993 driving video and am experimenting with various camera angles to see what works best. I like your FOV from your head! Maybe I'll buy the headband and try that for my next video. Lovely ride along! Also, as someone who drives and rides I’d say cyclists are no more buzzkill than you are coming up on them. Just two types of peeps enjoying the day.
@Rennthusiast
@Rennthusiast 2 жыл бұрын
Haha I know what you mean. That’s why I was careful not to hammer on the throttle while I passed them. Would have scared them. They can actually be a bit dangerous where I live. This road is great for riding but sometimes they are on high traffic, much more dangerous roads and people get impatient with them and pull dangerous passes. Our city is in the midst of building out more cyclist friendly road options though.
@overbuiltlimited
@overbuiltlimited 2 жыл бұрын
@Geoffrey I drive and ride too, but unlike you, I’m objective enough to call a spade a spade and say that the idiots in this video should ride single file on the side of the damn road. Also, when I ride and a cool car goes by, I enjoy it. Not a buzz kill at all.
@ixianmachine
@ixianmachine 2 жыл бұрын
@@overbuiltlimited Objectively, NCDOT law states they can ride two abreast. Not what they're doing, but also not what you say they should do. In any case, they're likely trying to have a safe, respectful and fun day like Rennthusiast was. Seems like a good thing.
@damage98
@damage98 2 жыл бұрын
@rennthusiast let me second that thought. Share the road. I did not look to closely, but you might want to cover your speedo. If you are speeding. It's hard to tell, but I hear tell some folks have been dinged. Lovely car, but again, share the road and exercise caution. Maybe book yourself some HPDE through PCA, it seems like you're in need of a track experience. Or Autocross? If the car is that sorted, I would love to see some video of that! @overbuilt_limited if you also ride, you should know that that mini peloton is perfectly within their rights to the entire lane. It's very dangerous to hug the shoulder single file and encourage passing, possibly at a bad time, by a driver who has a hard time with spatial awareneess. The cyclists are acting In self-defence, 2 abreast / taking the lane. That forces cars and trucks to pass only when the laws allow it, a dotted line location. You don't get to dictate new laws to suit a mood or attitude. Many of us have lost friends and even family to aggressive driving that kills cyclists. Let's try and avoid the worst case scenario whenever possible.
@overbuiltlimited
@overbuiltlimited 2 жыл бұрын
@@damage98 I’m not dictating new laws because of a mood or attitude. You are. To paraphrase the law in my state…”Bicyclists shall not ride more than two abreast, unless in a bike lane. When traveling slower than the normal speed of traffic, bicyclists may not impede traffic and must ride single file.” Also, it is legal to pass, even on a double yellow. This one is more open to interpretation, but most officers and judges understand (how do I know this?, 🤔) that it is unreasonable to require cars to stay behind a cyclist for the entire length of a double yellow road, if the car can pass safely.

some years ago, had a offer from USA to get a 911 t. the car was in Oregon. they send me a lot of photos of the car. looks like flawless. he ask 12000 for this beautiful green car. regular price at that moment. i didnt because import issues in my country. (south america). now, for the same car, people ask 10 times more..and selling..i think this buble, like many, will pop...sorry...
