Driving a Freightliner Garbage Truck, GoPro Head Mount, A Garbage Man’s POV!!! 5 Year Special!

First time trying a head mount with my GoPro, and I think it turned out pretty well! Let me know what you all think! Today marks five years on KZfaq and I figure I would upload a first hand view of what its like driving a Giant Freightliner standup side.

I wish you could set a camera at the hopper so we could watch nice hopper view with garbage getting crushed! Please make the hopper view with garbage! Longer length would be amazing!

Great POV my friend! Definitely do more, but on the older trucks, and longer! Perhaps on the WhiteGMC F5000 if you guys still run it? That would be awesome!

Hows about a magnetic attachment onto the truck (hopper) so the cam stays stiill. To much movement involved here, thanks for the post!!!

My company that is contracted in my neighborhood GFL Environmental sends a FreightLiner M2 106 tandem axel G&S products bucket truck I forgot the name of the style lol they also send a rear loader which is usually a FreightLiner M2 106 with a Tri axel heil dura pack 5000 or a FreightLiner 108SD with the same body just a tandem axel

My area has GFL and they use Autocar acx or expeditor trucks with labrie automizers. The rearloaders are also m2s with mcneilus body’s.

How does the parking brake work on these trucks? I notice you aren’t using the standard dash valve like on trucks and busses but some sort of remote? It’s a lot quieter than a standard parking brake as well.

Great video! Do you use the auto high idle much?

I don't, and the only reason for that is because then it takes about 2 seconds for each stop to let the truck come back to an idle where the rpms are low, and for me to be able to put the truck back in drive. Idk why, only real annoying thing about it.
