Prevost Aware is an adaptive cruise control system that allows the coach to maintain a set speed, slow down when a vehicle is in its path and resume speed when conditions warrant.
Let's face it, driving a large motorhome can be an intimidating experience. And, when attempting to navigate through mountain areas, keeping the coach under control can be stressful. This is where technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control can be a wonderful safety feature.
In this video I'll be demonstrating the Prevost Aware adaptive cruise control through the hills of Tennessee.

Hey Andy beautiful Prevost hi Tim a owner operator truck driver I just bought a 2023 Kenworth with all the same features it's amazing how far technology has come but I hope they never impede in our ability to operate our own vehicle as in driving will be illegal one day! I love to drive I'm saving up to buy my first Prevost and your video inspired me to keep saving I want to put down at least 50%, so that I can pay it off sooner, anyway thanks for the video beautiful rig you got there and don't listen to all the blow hard truck drivers they're just jealous!

Truckers are required to use their flashers when they are going 40 or slower on the interstate. I am retired from the trucking industry and now drive a school bus. This is also a safe idea for class a motorhome drivers. Such an adorable couple. Loving your videos.

Hey Andy, I'm a professional driver and I have a few things to correct you on. 4 way flashers are REQUIRED in almost all states when you are traveling less than 45mph ascending or descending hills and it's also required when hazardous conditions exist (heavy rain, fog, snow etc). These are regulations that truck drivers MUST follow as part of the FMCSA book. I do believe that any vehicle that weighs in excess of 12,000lbs should require additional training in order to drive. This goes double for large Class A motorhomes with air brakes. I think a special license with special training should be a requirement in all states. Some states have non commercial license requirements for the operation of large vehicles used for recreational purposes and non commercial uses but it needs to be mandatory nationwide. That bus you drive has a GVWR around 48,000lbs or so and can tow another 40,000lbs properly equipped, so I feel it's a good thing to require special license to drive them. Just as you wouldn't want an untrained driver behind the wheel of a semi truck, the same holds true for large RVs.

less than 45mph ??? the rule is 10mph under posted speed limit and rules for commerical truck are not same for class a rv drivers being that there is no cdl needed

@@maint_guy6977 you are wrong. On an interstate when traveling below 45mph is when 4 way flashers are required. And that goes for ALL interstates in the US. Look through the FMCSA guidelines, it is spelled out there.

My '17 Murano has adaptive cruise control, this is my favorite option. Specially useful for long trips, remove the stress involved with braking/accelerating and cancel/resume cruise control. A must have 👍

Thanks Andy for the video, most appreciated. Perhaps you'll do a similar video of demonstrating the adaptive speed control in heavy stop and go traffic. Keep up the good work! Off topic; any chance you know of an indoor RV storage facility along Florida's east coast?

Not to sound like a smart ass, but that is considered a mountain?! I'm looking to get a coach within a year, and I would like to know how they perform in the Rocky Mountains, as I live in Colorado where the mountain highways are steep. I do have to say that I really like your driving position. I love the side window placement and the structure behind the driver's seat that allows for Go Pro camera mounts.

It's not the Colorado Rockies, but the point of the video was to provide an explanation of how the Prevost Aware system operates. So, I'll ask...Did I accomplish my goal? And yes, the Prevost seats are wonderful and the positioning delivers great visibility.

Hey Andy. Your steering wheel appears to have some play. Does your coach have a modulating power steering, and Is that a symptom? I observed you motioning it, but the coach tracking seemed delayed. Like Mercedes S-Class, when you pedal down there's a hint of delay before power is delivered. How does it feel to you?

The steering feels find and I'm not noticing any delayed response in the pedal.

Cruise control AND engine breaking at the same time? Youre asking for trouble. AND why are you using cruise control in the mountains? You should be down shifting WITH NO CRUISE CONTROL and using your engine brake. I get that you never drive at night so you dont have to care about using your engine brake while your client sleeps(which is a no no), but you using cruise and engine brake at the same time will mess up your xomputer. And please stop using cruise control in the mountains.

When driving below regulated speed or in a emergency situation eg. broke down. To use it in low visibility situations is dangerous because anyone gaining on you thinks it is an emergency or stopped situation. Do not use emergency flasher except in emergency situations. I don’t care what regulations in your province or state call for. This practice is dangerous.
