This looks like a place in California or Florida. Palm trees, pickup trucks, American stores and signs, and a nice setting. But it’s a 24 hour flight away from Washington DC, this amazes me

I totally forgot how much tourists love this place prior to the pandemic. Tumon is home to just runners and a few small businesses now. Hopefully we call all pull through this crisis, start sharing our island hospitality again, and get people their jobs back.

I miss that place, born raised and lived there. I’m 11 I moved when I was 10 seeing that first clip hurt me bc that was the route we took to go to my school, Saint Anthony it’s sad looking back at the place I know so well, just leaving it and heading to a totally different place in Seattle, I’m happy with my life but I do miss Guam. My family is moving out here to the big world soon, left Guam so early, didn’t get to experience what most Guamanians will feel. I really like it out here but just moving so quick from the place I love and grew up in hurts. We fixed a White House down in agat (don’t know how to spell the landmarks yet) I loved my life there, and I hope to go back soon. Seeing all this, it hurts so much. Being pulled from what i grew up in, pay less, palm market, and my home. The people who rented our home don’t even take care of the fricken yard. I am disgusted and disappointed in what I grew up in to be a total mess, once we left. I made this just to say how my life is, bye nao.

My home 🇬🇺, haven’t been there since 2012. Still looks the same, somethings have changed. For everyone wanting to move there, please don’t move there because you think it’s better than where you’re currently residing. It’s a slow paced environment, summer year round, expensive, beautiful beaches. But people who are from there know what to do we grew up always having something to do, we may not have amusement parks like the mainland but we value People, and their company. There are a few people who do love it there and few people who hate it because it’s gotten real boring for them within an hour. That’s how long it took this man to drive around the island, an hour. So just because you see coconut trees and beaches and think it’s paradise (it really is my paradise) just like anywhere else there’s ups and downs. Don’t go to my island to get away from where you are because you hate it, and when things don’t go your way you trash my home. We are very welcoming people but we also are very prideful, respect us and we’ll respect you. USA made us America by force not by choice, I’m not saying I’m not proud to be an American, but before making ignorant remarks know your history first, just like Hawaii, my mother is from there so I have roots to both islands. And like the Hawaiians their kingdom was stolen from them, annexed. Thank you Arv of Ark for the video.

I feel the same way. I always hear mixed comments from people who have visited our island. They either love it or hate it. If you’re not from the island you won’t appreciate it as much as the locals. The beauty of the island is not just in the scenery but in the good people you meet if you’re fortunate. Yes it’s small, hot & humid all year round but if you love water and exploring nature then life here will be beautiful.
