Your Lada is very reminiscent of the cars I drove as a teenager. Back then I didn't realize that shock absorbers could wear out. (or tires or brakes or wheel bearings, etc.) Those cars tended to make lots of heinous noises on the road which I was able to ignore by way of ever-increasing volume settings on my car stereo. Delightful memories of my dad - red-faced, enraged - fruitlessly trying to teach me to listen to the car and not just the hard rock stations on the radio. I eventually did learn this - once I had to start paying for auto repairs and maintenance myself.

now do some DIY electronically adjustable shocks, the military got them. Ferrofluid in a tube, and electric coil on the choke point is controlled for variable viscosity, equals more or less shocks. Special timing controls the upstroke and downstroke between all the shocks :D

Speaking of springs I wonder how it would change the ride if you were to connect a spring to a big ass battery (like a 48V lift truck battery) and let it get orange hot and stretch it double length and let it cool down. Repeat for all four springs. Then install them back in the car!
@Monni952 жыл бұрын
Most likely it would ruin the springs, they wouldn't compress anymore. In the worst case it would make them really brittle. There is obviously a limit in how much you can stretch metal before it becomes too weak.
@cpufrost2 жыл бұрын
@@Monni95 Yes definitely ruin them, this is Garage54 and that's the idea! BUT! It would be interesting to see the differences in how fast cooling them (from air to cold water quench) makes. Since the original video topic was shocks, there's a LOT to play around with too! For example, a shock can be drilled and fitted with a refrigeration service valve so different oils and pressures can be tried. Anything from super viscous 120 weight down to super light oil, alcohol, Vodka, et-al. That would be fun!
@Frankd220032 жыл бұрын
