Driving Empire is a game originally created by Phoninian in 2019 under the name "Wayfort", who later gave Bourgist ownership as he diverged to making a new game called Vehicle Legends. Bourgist later changed the name of Wayfort to Driving Empire in December 2020. In January 2023, Voldex purchased Driving Empire and continued working on the project.
