As an very experienced Truck Driver... Please be aware... That 53' Trailer is a Big Sail... I have several experiences with other Truckers in High Winds... Our Tractor will be in one lane and our Trailer will be in another! People think driving next to a big rig is some how safer... That's Very Dangerous! I've been driving at 5 mph with other Truckers in high winds when the truck in front of me blew over without warning!
@GBuds_RVremodel
@GBuds_RVremodel Ай бұрын
Who are these "people" that think that? I've always heard that it's best to get past any truck as fast as possible and never ride beside one. I've been fultime RVer for nearly 30yrs towing with an ex-Uhaul, 30ft TT and a 6x10 box trailer on rear. I think the second trailer actually reduces the effects of wind(and passing trucks) on my towing experience. Like an anchor, I can touch the rear trailer brakes and "steady up" any effects of wind or speeding trucks

@@GBuds_RVremodel Sir there are several tricks we (Truckers) use... However, applying the trailer brakes while driving can put you into a Jackknife situation. Back in the early 70's, Applying the trailer brakes was widly used. However not used any more. Thinking of your safety.

I like to stay behind truck drivers (at a safe distance). I can tell a lot about the road ahead by watching how they drive. Are they getting hit with side wind gusts? Are they slowing down and moving over? An emergency vehicle on the shoulder. If they slow down I pay attention.

Air frying avoids deep fat frying. I especially love hash browns and chicken strips and that sort of thing sprayed with oil and air fryed. I put cauliflower in a silicon flat container with butter and seasoning and bake in the air fryer! It takes a bit to learn the recipes but it saves time, cleanup and is really much healthier. Don't give up- you'll get it. I'm working on my second one as I use it constantly

Carolin, if I remember, StarLink uses 120 volts. I would search for a loose ground wire someplace. Not knowing your system, it's hard to even think where to point you. Weak voltage or even modified-sine voltage will fail.

Stayed til the end. Can’t live without my Ninja Foodie air fryer/pressure cooker in the rv. You will have to dust your veg with some type of starch (corn flour, potato starch etc.) to get any kind of crispy bits…unless you scorch them by accident that is. Frozen Tator tots, fries, veggie tots, onion rings all come out great. Anything you bake in the oven like potatoes, biscuits, muffins are also good.

Was very nice excursion and the sound of nature. Also air fryers you have to play around and cook things a few times to get used to the cooking process. Some foods you have to spray a cooking oil before, just a little. Just keep an eye on it until you get the hang of it. Enjoy your trip home❤ Good Blessings

Hi Carolyn, I just want to say that I truly enjoy your videos. I’m making a list of all the places I want to go based mostly on what I see in your videos. I recently purchased a van that has been partially converted and I’m working on completing it. I hope to be on the road by the end of the year. You are truly an inspiration. I have been having trouble with Amazon as well. Yesterday I had three items that were supposed to be delivered and they were out for delivery all day and now Amazon tells me they will not be here until Wednesday. Today isMemorial Day! You are correct about the air fryer, if you want something crispy, it seems you have to use oil and I don’t like to use oil. Besides making the air fryer a sticky mess it’s not as healthy as oil free. I am vegan and I try to stay away from any oils. You can cook it without oil even if the recipe says so just don’t expect it to be as crispy. You’ll get a little bit of crisp. That’s all for now. I hope you have a wonderful journey back to New York and I will be following you all the way. Thank you for posting all of your adventures, good and not so good! In the end, it’s all good. Your loyal follower, Marcia Bell

Hey Carolyn… Tim here I found you on KZfaq five years ago I’ve been traveling ever cents… :-) As well as Bob Wells but I started a snowman life well educated from you people but one thing I wanna tell you about your air gauge you can go to Harbor freight And buy the same gauge that you’ve got on your compressor but it has an end on it that you can get to your tire valve two different ways from the front or the back of the end of the tool and what you need to do is unscrew your… Your gauge from the hose on your compressor and put some white tape on there and screw the one from Harbor freight on. There works great that’s what I did. I’ve got the same compressor you have that helps. Look forward to more videos. Travel safe, Tim and Jill. She’s my puppy.

Carolyn, I stayed to the end.....ok, ok, I was working on my 'bill' pile too! We are so much alike........your 'frame of mind' really does dictate how you feel and view things: screw in the tire, package delay. You really helped quite a few nomads with this very logistic video. No hiccups with Amazon so far; don't have an air fryer. I admit that I had the 'bread machine,' and the latest and greatest veggie slicer. All ended up in the closet, pretty dusty. Take care now. Best always, Fawn

stores just don't stock as much variety of items. Now you have to order from either the store for pick up or delivery, or Amazon. I've noticed that so many things just are no longer kept in the brick and mortar stores. Probably cheaper for them to order from the warehouse as needed. Sucks for those of us who don't want to order everything online. Loved the video. I keep telling my spouse that we need a good Bluetti for back up power.

Great, informative video, as well as some beautiful photography! That shot of the water when the first little thunderstorm was coming up brought up some great, different colors in the water, and I really liked the dark silhouette of the trees with the golden sunset behind. (And, naturally, the cool shot of Sadie wading in the water at sunset, too!) I'm like you...holding back on the whole airfryer thing, but that Bluetti seems like an impressive unit! Btw...I'm thinking that your Amazon delays might be due to a couple of weeks' worth of horrific tornados throughout the central part of the country. I noticed, in some footage I watched in the afternath of one, an Amazon truck caught up in the wreckage. All I could think of was "Well, a bunch of folks will be left hanging this week!" Since you filmed this, there have been even more bad storms, some with loss of life. Last night, there was a Texas State Trouper, visably in near tears, being interviewed just before they started search and rescue. It being a small-town, rural area, he had to know he'd be finding friends, neighbors, and maybe even family members as they proceeded. Big prayers going out to all affected.

I lived (for over 60 years) in Ft Collins, CO and drove to Cheyenne WY on a regular basis. That drive, on numerous occasions- or should I say most occasions- was always windy. More times than I can count, the winds were over 100mph. I have watched too many semi-trucks get rolled. Perfectly normal for that part of the country. There are some roads at those altitudes that won’t be plowed (of snow) and opened until July. I so miss that place. It will always be home. Safe travels!

Ahh, that Wyoming wind! Moved from Boise to Casper almost two years ago now and found out IT. NEVER. STOPS. 🙄 But thank goodness those 40 to 50 mph winds aren't constant. I especially enjoyed this video and your last one as you travel across the I-80 corridor. It's fun for me to see places that I'm familiar with. Anyhoo, love your videos, especially the longer ones! I appreciate all the time it takes you to put those together. One of my favorite things to do is to eat my breakfast in front of the TV and watch whatever latest video you've dropped. I'm always with you until the end. 😊

Your boon-docking site is amazing! Love the nighttime nature sounds. I could stay at a place like that! 🥰 Safe travels! And I stayed to the end! I tend to comment mid-way through for fear I’ll forget my thought by the end! 😂

Carolyn - super great today. Some of my favorite places - Les Schwab, and Cheyenne area, Wyoming! I could live on that last camping spot just for the sounds. Stunning, and I wish I’d been there for your morning coffee time. I enjoy you and your travels so much. The history insight is the icing on the cake. Happy Traveling.

Watch out for the winds in West Kansas. I was camped there on the prairie at a park with a few people and the winds came up at night on my travel trailer and shook so violent I thought it was going to tip. Then I noticed the old sales office had anchor chains from the Queen Mary across the top of it holding it in place and I moved my trailer downwind of that. It really helped
