First time we heard a siren in Texas we found out all the neighborhood comes out into the street to see what they can see. Met people I had never met since moving in.

@Turtlez R da best Wichita Falls. We moved here in 1992. When house hunting, the neighborhoods were identified by whether it was here before or after the 1979 tornado. At that time it held the record for wind speed. We haven't had one since we moved here. They really like OK.

The 1st time I heard sirens and I was home alone I called my grandma because my mom was going to get my grandpa in Illinois and guess what! THERE WAS NO TORNADO!! so the 4th time I didn’t care I was like it ain’t coming and it didn’t lol

I know this is old but you could always buy one of those storage type little house looking buildings. It would be fairly cheap to add an air conditioner and heater and it wouldn't have to be huge, I have seen some that are decent size and some even have lofts. I think they hold their value pretty good too, and in a pinch it could be used as a guest house.

One time I was home alone when I was 11 and my brother was 9 but anyway we were home alone and my mom wasn't answering her texts or calls and there was a freaking tornado warning and I was so scared because we rarely get tornados here but turned out it just rained hard

Omg I miss living in North Carolina! I remember the first time I heard a tornado siren, me and my first born were sleep ( I’m terrified of tornados and storms because my aunt locked me and my baby sister on the car on the middle of a tornado) I jumped up so fast and ran downstairs with my daughter and told my husband we gotta hide in the closet under the stairs. Long story short me and my daughter went in the closet while he sat on the couch and finished playing his game😂😂. There was a tornado just on the other side of town so we were safe.

I guess it depends on where you're from. Where I live we have tornadoes at least 8 times a year. To me it's a little creepy, but it's a whole different thing if you know it's coming towards your house. Usually I watch it from our door but if it looks like it's coming in my direction I go to my basement.

Whenever there's a tornado warning i grab my dog, shoes, my phone/charge food and drinks and pretty much run into the basement lmao. The last time i had to carry my mice down with me. This summer I had fish too so i had to have a bucket of water ready by the tank in case i had to grab them and run because the weather was acting janky here as well and I wasn't taking any chances. Even if there isn't a confirmed tornado yet I always get them down into the basement as soon as I see the warning. My pets are family to me.

This almost happened in TX there was lots of hard ran the leaves from the trees were landing in our car when my mom and I were grocery shopping.And we got in a tornado watch.And it ended in 5 hrs and no tornado...phew..

Where I live we rarely get a tornado. Whenever there is a rainstorm though I have tendencies go outside to watch and listen to it. I do want to chase a tornado at some point though. The rain has a calming sense in it to make me relax but I can't sleep with a noise machines though.
