Driving into Venice to find a park up…

Built on over 100 tiny islands in the Adriatic Sea, with no roads or car access, you would think it would be impossible to take a motorhome right into the heart of Venice! Join us this week as we do just that!
We manage to find overnight parking (though there are very few services) for our rental motorhome as we road-trip through Italy back to the UK. In the morning we enjoy exploring the beautiful city on foot and by gondola.

Our family have been roaming around the UK, Europe and US since 2007. We set off on each trip with only a rough destination in mind, allowing the roads we take and places we stop to evolve as we meet new friends along the way.

There's a lovely campsite just the otherwise of the big bridge, so with a bus stop very close by. Much cheaper.

Your right about pickpockets, we were caught out on the Rialto bridge earlier this year, we were asked to take a picture by a couple, they kept us talking a while, we later discovered their counterparts had taken some belongings out of our rucksack while they distracted us. I’d recommend only taking a small bag and keep it in front and to on your guard. It hasn’t spoilt our feelings for the place, it’s wonderful to just wander around and explore the off the beaten track place.

Love love love Venice. My favourite place on the planet. We were fortunate enough to stay at the Gritti palace for a special anniversary and although wed booked the cheapest room they gave us a massive upgrade to the most amazing suite with grand canal views! 😳 we’re never usually that lucky. Would love to go back in our van. Haven’t done the Gondola yet. Thanks for the fab video will def check out the campsite link.

I heard on the ‘grapevine’ that Venice had or has issues with the pollution in the water - went very green? This was before Covid I think Also the Venice government people have stopped Cruises Ships docking where they used to Also reminds me of the last few minutes of From Russia with Love with 007 and Tariana Romanova Sean and Daniela For me traditional pizza, red wine, tiramisu and very strong expresso or cappuccino Do you know anything or have heard anything? Nope. There was a lot of background noise and as a KZfaq creator you know sound is an incredibly important element of any video. It was quicker and easier to share a mic than comprise on the sound quality or find the other mic (which was somewhere safe in the back of the van). Lxx
