What's up! Hope you're staying dry on this rainy Tuesday! We're back with a back-to-back POV drive in the 2006 Nissan 350z Rev-Up and 2007 Nissan 350z HR!! These things are both so much fun to drive, and driving them back to back is really something special. You really get to feel the differences between the two cars; although very very similar, they absolutely have their differences and today I do my best to explain them in words the best I can!

The 350z will always be awesome ! Have owned a DE back in 2003-2008 and also an anniversary rev up in 2018-22 - both fabulous!!!. Currently have new European cars( vw arteon, Alpine A110 , volvo V60) all great, but still miss the 350 z every day - cool vid cheers from Brisbane

Sweet!! Always wanted to test drive a DE, hopefully someday! My neighbor actually has a VW Arteon and he let me sit in it last month... those things are seriously nice inside! If I didn't know any better I would have thought it was a Mercedes! Always appreciate your comments :)

Great video brother 🤙🏾 I just ordered a revup for my o6 g coupe 6sp it was 4k for the engine alone! But I think it’s worth it to have I also have an 04 g coupe Reg de that I wanna slap an hr motor in I love these cars rock 0n!!

Red Z looks clean with the new paint job! I would recommend repainting interior panels and upgrading the radio to a double din Android Auto/Car play radio. It's a great diff!

There's so many ways to get that thing to move faster without touching the engine. You should look into building a differential final drive set. THANKS FOR COMPARING THE 2

I feel the exact same way about my revup she is a show queen but I want beat the stuff out of it but most of the time I’m having trouble try not to spinning through 1st and 2nd but other then that I love the revup

Any chance you can do a decibel reading comparison between a muffler delete and the HR Megan? I currently have a muffler delete on my DE and am thinking about a Megan but really want to know the decibel difference since a muffler delete is definitely a "gentleman's exhaust" and that's something I like

Definitely! I think I've got a decibel reader at my house that I can use to test them both. The Megan is quite a bit louder, and has some rasp at the higher RPM. Will film a comparison video of them both soon!!

Z’s went up ⬆️ in price in the last 3 years… I remember seeing one going for like $4k in 2020. They’re all like 8k-10k now lol

I depends on mileage and year I just bought 350 2007 convertible 67,000 for 13,500 one owner garage kept it was an older lady. And the Carfax can effect the price too I just caught a lucky break

That misfire on the hr is common it’ll do that until oil temps are warm

Damn, didn’t know you had an open diff. Are all 350z open diff or is it trim level? It always breaks my heart when a sports car doesn’t have an LSD. To me it’s a world of a difference.

Only base models have an open diff but honestly the LSDs for the Z (vlsd) are garbage which is unfortunate

Yep, both open diff's! I agree, I really do wish at least one of these things had an LSD haha at least to compare the difference! Might just weld it, or spend the money and get a mechanical diff for the HR! Really appreciate your comment my friend! :)

What’s ur opinion on welding the diff? My Z would be welded but I still want to daily drive it and don’t want tire sliding. Probably it’s better to weld it only if it’s a focused drift build

It holds the rpm due to the dual mass flywheel get a lightweight flywheel and they will start dropping faster

11:40 and adding to that, you’ll need the HR hood because the HR engine actually sits up a bit higher than it’s DE counterparts

3:12 Well the og DE, comes out at 287 hp from factory, DE revup has 300 hp from factory, and the HR has 306 hp from factory, so that’s probably why it puts up a good fight

True!! On paper, they seem almost identical! Can't wait to get the HR fixed and really time the 0-60's for some in-depth testing!

@@JohnnyB. the fastest I’ve gotten 0-60 in my stock HR was around 6.1 seconds w/o traction on, I have the automatic but, it would be pretty similar times for the manual, could be slower or faster depending on how good the shifts are.

@@JohnnyB. Also you’re Revup looks a lot better maintained than the HR, so that could also help a lot. It could be driver mod, but my revup with some bolt ons beats HR’s all the time

Good question!! I'm really thinking about repainting it the OEM San Marino Blue that it has, but at the same time Lamborghini's color Verde Artemis would be pretty cool too haha can't decide!! What do you think?
