DRIVING THE BRAND NEW FLYOVER IN COLOMBO 3/COLOMBO 2

A brand new flyover was added to the Colombo road network yesterday afternoon. This flyover connects Sri Uttarananda Mawatha to the junction in front of Cinnamon Life (that has also got a new roundabout). Another section of the same flyover will connect Justice Akbar Mawatha to the roundabout in front of Cinnamon Life and Sri Uttarananda Mawatha however this segment is still under construction and is set to be opened in September 2024.
The purpose of this flyover is to allow vehicles to bypass the railway crossings in and around the Slave Island (Kompanyaveediya) Railway Station.

Colombo is a beautiful city when you compare with some of the major cities in Asia It is a Clean city with beautiful modern shopping malls and restaurants

I live very close to it.... Pretty good design . Great slope ..when driving u dont feel going on a flyover climb...😊 Now express trains can go well and road vechles too can go without delays. But still level road with railway crossing available.

This country would have been much more developed had the funds been utilised appropriately (shall we say at least 25%)?? What happened, instead the swindler politicians grabbed 99% leaving just 1% (even doubt it) for the poor taxpayers, how disgusting was that?? Anyway, only a few months to go and that vicious cycle would soon be going to end. Three cheers for the extraordinary protest!

Therefore, I humbly set aside my financial consultant's hat. It's evident to anyone with a clear perspective that when our country carries debts amounting to Rs 25896.1 billion, while possessing only Rs 1320 billion in assets (Sources: The Central Bank of Sri Lanka), the math speaks for itself. This straightforward equation should underscore the severity of the situation. It's crucial to examine this crisis from a broader perspective. Ultimately, it will be the burden of the poor taxpayer to bear the exorbitant cost of equity on these infrastructures, which includes hidden incentives claimed by our very honest politicians...

If you think corruption can be eradicated 100% it is only an imagination it may be true last 75 years funds may not be utilized properly or corrupted politicians stolen some but the figures are exorbitant to promote to one political party inorder grab the power with out any proper plan or policy to adopt with. Hence we need to stop further wastage and corruption in future instead of crying and criticizing the past as they are desperate power greedy political parties instead of solving the problems and grievances of general public but some or other to get the political power of the country.
