Driving the Col du Chaussy in France. This road is mostly known for the first 3 kilometers of the pass known as "Lacets de Montvernier". There are 17 very tight hairpins with practically no space to pass other cars.
After the Lacets de Montvernier, we ascent over 1000 meters, drive past a small balcony section, reach the top of the pass at 1533 meters, and eventually descent down to Saint-Martin-sur-la-Chambre where D99 continues onto the D213. Here you can take a right turn and drive the Col de la Madeleine.

Les lacets de Montvernier sont empruntés par le tour de France. Ce qui offre un très beau spectacle vu d'hélicoptère. Belle vidéo.

Just another awesome video upload! This video reminds me of the pushbike track in Kalamunda at Gooseberryhill Western Australia near Ridgehill road where a similar but not as beautifull zigzag bitumen road is for so many years. And which attracts visitors from oversea for their tourist destination

Les Lacets - one of the more outrageous stretches of road. I had ridden past it a couple of times before I knew that it was there (it's not really visible from the main road (D1006, unless you know what to look for). I make it a point to ride it whenever I'm in the neighborhood.

Those are not 'dividing lines. They mark the middle of the road so that you don't get too close to the edge in bad weather, rain or fog when you can't really see. You just keep the nose of your car on the white marks in the center to be safe.

Hi, I like the reduced motion blur in your videos and the high level of details. What camera do you use, and what are the settings for shutter speed? You leave everything in auto, or do you set a specific shutter speed?

I use a GoPro Hero 8 Black and generally record with the following settings: 4K 60FPS, wide lens, hypersmooth on, high bitrate, -1.0 EV Comp, 5500K white balance, 100 ISO min, 400 ISO max, medium sharpness, flat color.

What strikes me the most about seeing these videos is how much better the road surfaces are in Switzerland. It's about time Mr Macron increases the budget for road maintenance! Chop Chop!

Switzerland is a tiny country, only 41,285 km2. France is the largest country in the EU: 643,801 km2, with 1,103,451 kilometers of roads. Motorways: 11,618 km. National roads: 9,044 km. Departmental roads: 377,890 km. Municipal roads: 704,899 km. Due to its numerous overseas departments and territories scattered all over the oceans, France has the largest EEZ in the world: 11,691,000 km2. So France has to maintain roads all over the world. French Guyana area (83,846 km2 in South America) is twice Switzerland area.

On that stretch of road only wide enough for one car, what do you do if you meet an oncoming car? Long long backup on a very twisty road?

Those are not dividing marks. They are used on narrow roads to mark the center of the road. Useful in case of bad weather.

It's incredibly dry, the sky has a strange color, maybe because of the sand at high altitude? I need to know the date for the context of the day's weather, very curious about the climate. Thank you.

Ok, my butt cheeks have slammed shut. I’m going to need a gallon of prune juice to get regular. How the heck do you drive this? My brain is in overload….no just don’t fall off mode. Somebody give me a clue. How do you avoid the anxiety? Montvernier is beautiful but getting there….. Is it healthy living, training at high altitudes….what?
