The Ford Aeromax is one of the most underrated trucks in my opinion. Really love the way they look.

Sad that the only reason it failed was because truck drivers didn't like how it looked especially the older drivers. Yes truck drivers actually did vote with the wallet quite literally, choosing the classic look over a more fuel efficient truck. Hell the more fuel efficient truck was cheaper. Now that you saying something about the trucking industry.

That is Dros 3000R Utility trailer. Absolute QUALITY mod. He has some others on the workshop as well. Also when the wagon is detached, the rear doors open. Cheers all!

Man those trucks are legendary LTA9000, they had a style called a Hardrunner, check it out looks like the one you ran without the graphics on the side, great vid dude love seeing these oldies!

Boy that brings back memories - we had a fleet of LTA9000 Aeromax's back in the 90's and took delivery of our last units in 1996, unit 614301 was the last truck to be delivered. Basic trucks, all Cat 3406E cut back to 350hp and 9 speeds. They had their problems but overall decent trucks and better than the Pete's that we had, larger cabs and they didn't rattle so bad.

These Aeromax are weird trucks, I hauled some cattle with one and it was just odd lol. Especially seeing that Ford logo Sometimes you just have to rev er! I'm in Cali right now, I hate Cali roads. Beautiful state, terrible roads. I rarely split in the basement in real life unless I'm really heavy or on a giant hill, or if I have to go slow. Sometimes it's nice when going slower to just throw an extra gear at it. But usually, I just split the top

Baskin Robbins used to run a bunch of those back in the 1990’s-2000’s. I miss seeing them ole Ford Aeromax 120’s! This one sounds and look crazy good in this video!!

What made me like this truck, believe it or not, was that one episode of The Simpsons where Homer has to drive for a guy that died during a steak eating contest with him. That guy drove the Aeromax lol (or at least a cartoon rendition of one)

1500 is too low even for real world situations. When empty, you can get away with it but 90% of trucks when loaded need to be brought up to anywhere from 1800 - 2000 rpm before shifting. Also I almost bought an aeromax a year ago. Always loved the old ford commercial trucks. It was a tie between that and a regular LT9000.

LOVING this truck. Thanks for showing it off, Jeff. Will be making a video about it as well. You're right about the gear changes; 1500 RPM is way too low. I'm on automatic transmission because I've only got an XBOX 360 controller and changing gears in the game is too much coordination for me but the thing shifts up at around 2300 RPM at least; you could push to 2500 RPM to get a few more MPH out of the gear I guess.

My dad drove an purple Aeromax when I was a kid in the late 90’s. He called it Barney. I don’t know what motor it had in it, but I do know it had an Eaton 13 speed.

I was at a trucking company back in 92 working my way into their system via the extra board They had just purchased a couple of Aeromax day cabs for their senior drivers I got to drive each one at least once they were heavy spec 3406 cats 9 speeds twin screws Merritt aluminum cab guards Set up for local steel house account they were just adequate nothing really empressive

I have never seen even a Ford Aeromax in person. Not even a single one. Seems like all we get here anymore is Freightliner and Volvo. Even the old mainstay Kenworth and Peterbuilt are a rare sight outside farm country.

My uncle drove OTR in a Ford AreoMax had the Detroit and a 13 Eaton if I remember correctly rode many miles with him. Then many more miles in dads 88’ International 9300

I don't think the Aeromax's hood is as long as a W900, it is kind of wide though. Actually an Aeromax was the first rig I worked on when I became a truck mechanic. They are called Jake brakes because Jacobs Manufacturing has been making them since the sixties, though Clessie Lyle Cummins invented them in 1951 or 57 I forget at the moment. Jake brake is the same as Kleenex, everyone knows what they are. That and "engine compression retarder" takes too long to say.

Seeing you shift in the sim makes me miss shifting in my western star 18 speed in real life. Sadly working 16 hours a day 5 days a week away from home wasn't a good fit for me, I was falling asleep at the wheel. I loved the job so much but I had to stop for safety reasons.

As a fellow trucker irl, this just blows my mind... There is no reason you should have been working that long so that you'd fall asleep at the wheel. And whoever taught you is an idiot for not telling you that you can literally end your day whenever you want, or even just take a 30 minute nap if need be. You're the captain of that truck. Your dispatcher and your company cannot force you to work in conditions that you feel are unsafe, for any reason. If it was your company that was making you work that long and not take breaks then you should go to a different company. There is no reason you should have been working that long while also still driving. If it was also the whole staying out for long periods of time... I can totally understand that. Its tough being out on the road away from family for that long, so I cant blame you for that. But also remember, if you love driving that much, you can always look into getting some local stuff! Theres plenty of companies that run day cabs where you're home every night at a reasonable time, and off on weekends! Just gotta find one that fits. :)
