Cinco Saltos is an Argentine city located in the Alto Valle fruit-growing area, in the province of Río Negro. The city is located on the left bank of the Neuquén River, a few kilometers from its confluence with the Limay River, in the northwest of the General Roca department. It is the venue for the La Picasa International Film Festival and the National Fruit Growing Festival. In addition, part of its urban Ejido corresponds to a peninsula on Lake Pellegrini known as Ruca-Có, distant 12 km from the city center. There, the Provincial Water Festival is held during the summer as well as the Student and Spring Festival during the month of September.
On April 29, 2009, the community of Cinco Saltos shared the world's longest apple pie, which measured 201 meters. This was carried out for the benefit of the local Volunteer Fire Department, it was designed and baked by the local chef Córdoba, with the visit of the prestigious pastry chef Osvaldo Gross, in honor of one of the fruits par excellence of the province. For the second consecutive year, the giant cake was made again. This time measuring 258 meters, and including 10 meters for celiacs. In 2011, it was made for the first time outside of Cinco Saltos, in Buenos Aires.
The town is also known as "the city of witches" due to its alleged reports of witchcraft in the area. In a world ranking on esoteric issues, it has been recognized as one of the cities with the most witchcraft in the world. In 2017, based on a home video, an investigation was launched in the local cemetery due to the appearance in a grave of a mummified body of a girl about 10 years old at the time of her death. However, this fact has not been found any link with esotericism.
