Can absolutely confirm upping protein and fiber (plant powder shakes with superfoods) were the missing ingredient in my journey of mostly only working out... kinda maybe (not really) cutting calories. The protein and fiber WERE deficient and the system seems to be back on track with better workouts, sleep, reduced cravings, and seeing results in the mirror. Carb cravings basically gone with consistent protein and fiber shakes. Junk and snack cravings, gone. Strangely so, didn't expect that to work so well. Insulin grogginess, cleared significantly. Still eating meats and mostly dinner as the biggest meal but I'm not as hungry and feel genuinely more satisfied from less and I've been a heavy processed carbs snacker for awhile. Zero Ozempic. If you're on the fence, perhaps focus the money on a bullet blender, quality plant protein and fiber shake powders, frozen broccoli (5g fiber/protein a cup) and dark cherries (reduce inflammation, sleep improvement) - some taste fantastic too. I can respect there might be extreme cases for Ozempic but natural options are indeed worth exploring too if feasible.
@lifeiseverything93 ай бұрын
@Astral_Dusk Thanks totally agree with you I don't like to hear about that evil ozempic drug again it destroyed my health organs so bad ended up in hospital for 2 years in and out of the hospital without results just worse everytime, until I stopped the ozempic, the side effects lasted a whole year and something as l fight it. And when l started what you have mentioned this year I am starting to lose weight naturally.

Dr. Fung, you have changed and simplified my life. I have just started intermittent fasting about 5 weeks ago, have watched most of your videos and actually found out that this is exactly how my body wants to eat. I had about 25 pounds that I would like to drop and I am actually down 10 already. I am looking forward to seeing where my weight settles, but I see this as a permanent lifestyle change for me, and I don't have an actual weight goal. If I meet friends for lunch and eat more than usual, I just make that my one meal for the day. I love not having to worry about calories, carbs or counting anything. The 18:6 window works perfectly for me and I am very rigid about that. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I agree. That 18/6 window works for me as well. I’ve kept the weight off for over a year. I’m now off of meds can you believe? Doctor was supportive of what I’m doing he just said not many can do it. But I didn’t want my parents and family issues and I can’t do the calorie thing. This works and I’ve met people in their 80s who have been doing this their whole life but they didn’t know what they were doing. And of course they are incredibly fit. I do 5-7 miles at 6 pm 6 hours after my last meal. I never gain a pound now. And I look incredible. No more diets. This has been life changing. I know it’s a cliche but it’s true.

I wasn’t clear was I. So what works for me is eat by 6am then stop by noon. Then workout hard around 6pm and don’t eat again until 6 am the next day. I have to leave the house and either walk or gym around 6 when the rest of the world is eating dinner including my family. My doc said that most couldn’t keep that up but it works for me. He is shocked by the progress. A lot of muscle mass and far less fat. But those 6 hours are only high quality food so I get fiber and nutrition. This is what works for me. I could switch to another time but when I do I don’t sleep as well. I hope this clears it up.

@@Ridindirty808 any dietary fiber, it is not food. Yes it is broken down into saturated fat, but it has no utility whatsoever.

@@antoinettefrancis5036me too. I'm lonely, and just the thought of knowing I have my favorite snacks waiting for me is the comfort I need to make it through the day. I took 3 shots of Ozempic and gave up because I got too nervous about the side effects. But over those 3 weeks, Ozempic quieted the food noise in a way that nothing else has..... ever. It was sooo freeing and relaxing to have that switch shut OFF and be able to live life without that food noise whispering in my ear all day.
