Wyatt is the biggest party animal I know! He’d stay up all night if we’d let him! Anyone else have kids who are the same? Maybe we should get together and be friends so they can ride themselves out 😅

Your videos prove to me that anyone can chase their dream even if they have already started a family. I have always tried to avoid the medical field because I thought it would put my life on hold and I wouldn’t be able to start a family until I’m done with school. But that doesn’t have to be the case

Beautiful babies that you have!! Its so sweet to see how independent Wyatt is. He's at the age where it is hard to reason and rationalize with them! You're doing great Jenny!!

He listen / follows directions from everyone else but us (his parents) 😭 it’s like he knows he can get away with things with us.

@@drjennale my nephew is the same way! When i watch him or around him (i lived with him for 4 years) he would always listen to me. But if his parents say the exact same thing i did, he doesn't listen. He is 5 now and is totally turning around! Just takes time but i am sure you know that! Love your videos. You're one of my favourite youtubers! Your authenticity and honesty is so refreshing on the internet!

Jenny Le that’s how most kids are. Everyone would always brag about how good my daughter listened to them and I was like are we talking about the same kid...lol parents are their safe place and they will always push to see how far they can go but it will definitely turn around as he gets older. He’s such a cutie pie! :)

I find my almost 3 year old likes the small tooth brushes that are for beginner/baby brushes. She doesn’t love brushing her teeth either but it helps us
@drjennale5 жыл бұрын
Maybe we should try that. Maybe the softer brush would help
@luvdatkawaii5 жыл бұрын
Just letting you know that there are toothbrushes that play music when you brush--maybe if you take him to the store and let him pick the song so that he's involved in the process, he will feel invested and the music will encourage him to brush. I've seen them at both Target and Wal-Mart.
@drjennale5 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome. Wyatt loves music and dancing! I’m sure he’ll go for it

wow you're incredible. Being a doctor, and also mom of two little kids..... my advise is...you should make him to get more tired... no nap and keep him more active during a day, so he'll get tired by 8pm. If it's hard try not to give him lot of sugar. i was doing baby sitting for long time but these helped a lot:) From 🇯🇵

You’re right! On days he’s more active, he’ll sleep better. But I’m so tired when I get home from work 😭 I’ll just have to make Stan do it

It’s great that you model teeth brushing for him to see. And it’s also great Wyatt wants to do it. I came across a video helping parents to teach kids to brush their teeth. It involved teaching and using stickers on a progress chart as a reward. Its similar to the tools I’ve learned, however, the techniques I learned focuses on a more involved approach for teaching, because of different child circumstances. But the idea is the same: teaching and positive rewarding. In all, I’m sure you’ll figure something out that works for him. 😊 All the best💕

We did the sticker reward thing for potty training! Never thought to do it for brushing teeth. But such a good idea. Thanks 😊

Gorgeous family - I cannot believe how fas time flies by. I started watching you as study support whilst I was at Law School! Also, I am sure that Wyatt will learn to love brushing his teeth with time - so many little boys (my brothers, my husband all admit to this and have no idea why they did it!) love to avoid brushing their teeth / pretending that they brushed them when they were younger, but very definitely grew out of it pretty quickly!

My kids brushing their teeth is one of THE hardest things to do but with routine it's better. Being a little older, they know the consequences if they don't brush their teeth (i.e. cavities, gum disease, etc). Not sure if anyone has suggested this or not, but has Stan ever brushed his teeth with Wyatt? Maybe knowing/seeing his dad brush his teeth might help him feel like a "big boy"?

My son is 26 months. We took his side rail down from his crib a few weeks ago, mainly to give him more freedom in the morning to use the potty instead of waiting on us. The first 2 night went We I think he didn’t realize he could get out the bed. After that the only way he would stay in bed was if we stayed in his room otherwise he would leave the room repeatedly. My husband got annoyed and now the toddler rail is off and he is back to a crib 🤷🏽♀️. Regarding the teeth brushing, no advice. My son bites the toothbrush or refusing to open his mouth or fights. It’s a struggle.
@drjennale5 жыл бұрын
That was us!! We’d stay in his room until he fell asleep. Then when he work up around 2 AM, he’s just walk himself into our room. In 3 months, we’ll get Wyatt a real big boy bed and give the crib to London. I’m hoping the excitement of a new bed will keep him in his room 🤞🏼

Wyatt has discovered the word no lol! He's at that age where they start trying to gain control of things. He is so cute! So is London. I can't believe he's already 7 weeks! It seems like you just had Wyatt! Where does the time go! You're doing great with the tooth brushing. I think kids just don't like having anything in their mouths even though as babies they put everything in their mouths! I hope it gets easier. You have a beautiful family

Maybe u could bribe him. Like put a cup on the sink and tell him every time he lets you brush his teeth he gets a quarter. Then at the end of the week he can go to the dollar store and spend his hard earned cash. But if he doesnt cooperate he doesnt get the quarter. Im not against a little incentive to preserve sanity🤣

Letting someone brush ones teeth is not that comfortable. For kids it's even worse. I think you are either tickling him with the brush or irritating his gum. You cannot see, what you are doing from your point of view. Maybe get on his level and make sure you are only touching his teeth. (When he is nice, he may brush yours too (it's an experience for you too), maybe let him know you show him, how it is done and softly guide his hand. He will get better and might want to brush himself, but you have to do the last cleaning process. You could prove it with those red control pills.) Are you somehow "pushing" things in general? A toddler might want to do everything on his own, when he feels stressed, when you are too busy acknowledging his needs, rush, if he feels treated like a machine not as someone, who wants to and gets to be part of what's happening with him and around him. He is learning something new every single time, maybe it's a movement, proper tooth paste application, dosage, accepting the routine etc. Make sure he is able to learn something. Let the environment be learning friendly: no stress, enjoy it yourself, adjust things a little to help him instead of being stressed by his attempt to apply the nearly finished toothpaste (tell him how much and where to squeeze - because it's more difficult with the nearly empty one) so he could have a learning experience and have a feeling of success. That's what siblings do. They aren't in a rush, they learn from each other, they enjoy, what they do or just doing it together, having the same rhythm, not feeling alone. Explain, what you do. Plan yourself things you are okay with, if he tries them himself or if you could teach him in a wider timeframe. He will feel more as a person, accepted, being able to accomplish things, proud. You may see, where he wants and needs guidance and help and he may be seeing positive aspects in following your advice. Like that you grow together and have a better experience.
