I also show you how to spot an English made teacup versus an American teacup just by looking at their handles. It's that easy!

I go thrifting so my cats can eat off of Johnson Brothers, Mikasa and Noritake. Might as well since they split the set. It was all over the store! I was surprised the Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grondahl was so cheap. It’s fun to decorate with that. In Copenhagen through the 80’s and 90’s the prices were so high. And I’ve found Royal Doulton pieces that I got at Harrods and I almost fainted when I saw the tag. I think many collectors passed and the families didn’t care enough to see what they had. I ALWAYS appreciate the nuggets you teach us -- like today's how to differentiate an English teacup from an American one simply from the handle. 👍 Thanks for all you do every day Dr. Lori ! And as a simple sidenote, from someone who spent many years in the public eye -- PLEASE be sure NOT to take criticism from trolls to heart. Release that stuff!! And remember it is a TINY portion of the viewers who even noticed it, let alone believe it. Remember -- We need you around educating us (& the world) for decades to come, and few things damage the body long-term faster than stress.

My mother received that same Johnson Brothers' set for Christmas in 1979. It made for a beautiful table scape. Each piece depicted its own historical vignette.

The problem with these older dishes is they can’t go in the microwave. Myself, I only put Pyrex measuring cups in the microwave but your family members will ruin them for you because they don’t know or don’t care.

I love Dr. Lori….but every single time I watch her, I think, “dang she would’ve made a great guest appearance on Frasier!!” The plot would’ve been about antiques, of course and the fact that she calls herself “Dr.” I know she’s a doctor, but imagining Niles and Frasier with her, makes me laugh every time!

I have a painting it pulled out of the trash. St. Pats in NYC with a tall office building behind it. I think the building is the focal point. It was found in their trash. Dated 1971 but I can’t figure out the artist signature. How can I find someone who can help?
